Flashpoint..... Smooth with POP!
« on: June 07, 2005, 04:25:49 PM »
I've been going to a nice shot center and tearing it up in practice.

Started league and have made an absolute A.... of myself.  Backends about 5 boards bigger than practice.

Took a special drill ball of another brand in there and back to sweet.

Also took in the Flash point drilled 4 by 5(pin down and outside ring) and this was so smooth and carried like an animal at this center.

Truly a midlane monster with a smooth but close the deal type of move on the back if the backends are moving.

Agreed, Mine is drilled 5 1/2 with the pin above the ring and it really really REALLY reads the midlanes. It doesn't backend extremely hard, but just hard enough to kick corners out. Cover seems to really grab early for a pearl reactive.

You know what is funny, I have NEVER seen another person throw this ball either. Seems like this ball deserves much more attention than it has recieved. Probably because it is not a backend monster like many of the other storm balls.

I've seen a ton of high scores shot with this ball in my leagues and in tournament action. The Flash Point may not be a first bag out of the ball situation but I think it's a monster on most medium oiled conditions. I have a best friend who would use his in most leagues and easily post a 220 average with it, and I also know people in tournaments that have shot 300's with this ball...

I feel I am now starting to get a feel for our local conditions!!!

Incredible backends with difficulty pushing the ball to the breakpoint many places.  Great place for high speed up the backers.

So when one is a higher rev slower speed strong side roller it's not heaven!

BUT...

There are solutions and I'm strarting to find them.

Pearly control drillings is one.  I have a 2 X 2 Hex....very slow read of the break for that super wet dry but not that wet in the middle.  Next up the totem poll is my flashpoint, and then finally normally drilled stuff with big backends.(not used much).  Yesterday the read of the Hex was TOO slow.  Next step up...Flashpoint

The flashpoint 4 X 5 really is starting to look real sweet on a tube shot.
Righties 15 to 10, lefties abotu 14 to 8 that can really carry.

This ball penetrates down the lane, revs up pretty good and then makes on good strong backends a nice short almost sharp punch to the hole and carries.

If your backends are not strong you have better stuff.  I have a massive Throttle R and Crunch.

This ball is a medium condition good strong backends dream.

REgards,

PS I have found on synthetics that thsi ball is often too smooth if carrydown!
