Looking for light medium to dry lane ball. House pattern is between 34-38 feet im a tweener throwing around 17 mph on wood lanes. Im wanting nice smooth arch with decent (not too much) back end. Would the Jolt Pearl be a solid choice, if not what else by storm?

for that sort of condition there are a few options for you from storm/roto grip. These opinions are from what i've seen.....
storm (in order of hook potential most--->least)
spitfire (smoothest overall)
t-road pearl (most backend overall)
thunderstruck pearl (long, backend between troad and spitfire)
jolt pearl (weaker version of the thunderstruck pearl)
roto grip (in order of hook potential most--->least)
illusion (good length, backend between neptune and venus)
neptune (excellent on dry....long, smooth reaction)
venus (most backend overall)

jolt pearl is pretty good yea. it has more backend than i think some ppl say. the tropical storm is pretty good for medium oil to light oil. works pretty good.

I think you would be pleasantly surprised with the Jolt Pearl as I was. I have used this on higher friction and shorter patterns and get a nice smooth look with good crisp pin action.

The jolt pearl is stronger than advertised, especially on clean backends. The ball can also be over/under depending on conditions. After putting many games on it, I think its only useful on short oil or a really burnt up track. If you are throwing from oil into the burnt out track, you must not get it out too far into the carrydown if it exists on the outside. It has acted better once I took a gray scotch brite too it. If you plan on using it for these type of conditions, I'd almost have it drilled maxed out. I had mine drilled weak, and because the ball has such late flare, it can be too much at times. I think if I had the ball drilled for midlane roll and max flare, the ball would burn up a bit and be more even. You might be better off with the solid and drill it for length or bring it higher than the 1500 its at.
I think its a great ball depending on what you are looking for. If you have decent hand, don't expect to use it on dry.
For dry conditions, the Tropical probably is the best choice.

The Jolt Pearl is an excellent ball. I use mine for later shifts. I can control the breakpoint and don't have a lot jump off the dry boards.
The Tropical is also good, but does not work well if there is any carrydown. You need to keep the Tropical in the dry area.
