All:
Received an email from my distributor today as Storm is releasing in "Highly Limited Quantities" the Yellow Sun Storm. Only 3 per pro shop location is permitted, and each distributor is limited to a "super limited quantity" and when they are sold out, they are sold out. I was able to get 3 and when I ordered, my distributor was almost sold out already and this was only announced at 10 am today.
Supposedly releasing on or around Friday November 18, also according to my distributor.

A bit off topic here, but I'll ask it anyway, since it deals with that ball..
I remember seeing the Yellow Sun Storm and Red Sun Storm back in the day when the XCalibur and Turbo X were also being thrown.. what was the difference between the Yellow and Red Sun Storms?
BL.
-
If I remember correctly yellow was weaker and polished while the red one was stronger core with a sanded cover
-
I believe Morpheus is correct.
Also - specs on the Limited Sunstorm
IQ Tour Core
SPEC cover.
Should be interesting
-
Unlike most, I like the Spec cover interested to see this go down the lane.
-
I like it as well. Still have a NIB Pro Motion and I believe the Roto Wild Streak was SPEC or a close variation and i have 1 of the still laying around as well.
-
I'll be having one of these for sure ...
-
Looks like December 9th release for USA....however overseas the release date is October.
-
Have mine ordered already. ;D
-
I've ordered one, too. I always liked spec coverstocks.
drillbit
-
I have been using mine on medium THS and its super good. I think its on par with the iQ Tour, but more cover......excellent ball. It makes me want to search out a ProMotion.
-
Just curious, is anyone still using this ball? I have one but yet to drill it. A league bowler who has used one said it doesn't hook.
Any thoughts?
-
I have personally never used one; but I have it thrown in league and it does in fact hook well for the bowler I saw with it.

Very late to this thread.
The yellow one was darn near uncontrollable with it's hook. I had one, sold it after attempting many cover alterations.
This is a crime by Storm in my opinion. The Storm "ball reps" in my area sold them for a ridiculous amount of money, pouncing on the "limited edition" verbage.
The ball market is out of control & some consumers just can't help themselves.

Agreed that some consumers can't help themselves. ;D
I don't see how it's something Storm did wrong though.

Unless Storm funneled the reps the balls directly, I don't see how this is Storm's fault either.
I threw mine last night (just drilled it last week). Too much ball on a fresh house shot. Heck the IQ Ruby was too much on the fresh too.
Oil is tough to come by I guess these days.

I threw the Sun Storm a couple of times in shadow last night. I have it drilled fairly neutral (For me), so the layout doesn't "make" the ball hook. On a walled-up house shot, with my hand up the back on release, it had a nice straight path with a slight move left at the end. Probably about 5 or 6 boards. Looks to be a ball I can use.
