Title: Marvel Pearl Question-Box Surface?
Post by: tloy on August 22, 2017, 06:10:47 AM
I just got a "New " Marvel Pearl, drilled 30 x3 3/4 x35 Storms 1500 Box Surface. Shot very well with it in open play Last Tuesday. Then Thursday in League it was like it was too strong. My stats are Speed 14.5-15.5 rev rate 300-320 Pap Coordinates r 4 1/2 up 1 1/2. My question is will 1000 + polish get it to read earlier and not be overly strong on the back? I had to end up switching to my Snaplock which is 50 x 4 x 75 layout. Thanks in advance :)

Yes. 1000 or 2000 with polish will help. Even just breaking the surface with a pad will help some.

Most people on here change Storm's box finish immediately. I don't because i found a way that seems close to duplicating it and I've liked the surface with a few balls

i get close to 1500 factory by using a new 500 pad then hitting it with storm step 2. Then if i need a little more shine hit it with a touch of xtrashine.

My Storm Timeless came 1500 polished.  It was too jumpy when it saw friction.  I later experimented with 2000 grit and 3000 grit.  I really like the motion I get with the 2000 grit.  Much smoother reaction.
