Anyone tried out the Marvel Pearl with surface? I'm looking at having this line-up once the Son!Q drops, and I'd like to create more separation from the Son!Q, while not having such a large jump to the NRP and Phaze II from it.
Phaze ll
No Rules Pearl
Marvel Pearl
SON!Q
Hy-Road Pearl
Hustle Ink
Black Urethane

you really want 3 low rg pearl balls? one would have to go.

I definitely get why you would say that.
I'm envisioning 3 different shapes providing their own utility in that middle of the bag range. Maybe I'm off on my thinking though too here. Son!Q in theory should be the cleanest with R2S Pearl, with a more pronounced move on the end than the Marvel Pearl. The Marvel Pearl is smooth and rounded providing more traction than the Son!Q. Then the No Rules Pearl providing the most traction of the 3 and more backend than the Marvel Pearl.
My gut agrees with you that one of them isn't going to see much action. So I thought maybe an OG Hy-Road to replace the Marvel Pearls spot. But then instead of buying another ball, I got to thinking surface on the Marvel.

I messed with mine with a few surfaces and settled on 4000 abralon. For me, with my tilt and axis (modeled my release after PDW), the ball was WAY too sideways to be used with any consistency with the box finish. Now it has a nice pop on back with good length and a slower move off friction.
Now, depending on what house I am bowling in, I will carry my Marvel-S, Marvel Pearl and Punch Out or Lock, Snap Lock, Punch Out

I'm thinking I'll try a light run with a 4k pad and see how I like it.
