Title: Match Solid Video
Post by: ITZPS on April 15, 2016, 01:49:26 PM
And here's the Match Solid!  With the Match Pearl I got pretty much what I expected, and it's great, don't get me wrong, but this one definitely "has a great personality."  Surprisingly good.

Luke,

I haven't compared your solid video to the pearl video directly, but it almost seems like you're getting more and a more pronounced backend from the Solid than the Pearl.

Were both balls at the stock surface and used on the same condition?

Very nice videos, by the way. Thanks.

Charlest,

I know this was the case for me with the Tropical Heat series. The reactor solid and hybrid with surface produced more pop that the pearl at box. I just wish the colors were a little better on these. I'm not seeing any shelf appeal for the average customer.

Yes, both were same surface, same layout, and you're correct.  I get a "sharper" breakpoint out of the solid than I do the pearl.  At first the pearl was very snappy, but after a couple games it smoothed out.  The solid also hooks 4-5 boards more than the pearl.  Like I mentioned in the video, it reminds me of the Tour Solid in a very odd way.  It's a BIT longer and a BIT sharper, but overall it has a lot in common with the Tour Solid despite the differences on paper.

I probably should have included a comparison between the two in the videos . . but they're both fairly different looks.  Great compliments for each other, and legitimately could be a two ball league arsenal though.

Match Peal looks GREAT in person, however that's why I said the Solid has a "great personality," because it's definitely a butter face . .

Well played! The Pearl reminds me of a Soul Mate
