My new toys..
« on: July 31, 2014, 07:13:49 PM »
Deranged and Disturbed

These two are exactly as expected,  great duo...I'm just late to the party.

Optimus and Freak'n Frantic

The Optimus is just fun to throw...I needed more help with this layout as I failed with the marvel pearl (drilled with my favorite layout)...I modified my favorite layout just a touch and it rolls like a champ!

My frantic was too rolly, so I made this one go a Lil bit longer....

Coming soon...Wrecker #2, Zero Gravity, !Q Tour Fusion..
Christmas in July baby!
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]

For me its a medium transitioning into light.  The way the core rolls I do not get much motion unless they are hooking.  This one is definitely a game 3 and I'm feeling lucky ball..

My entire team bought these balls as ”team balls” this year, yeah, we are pretty serious! Haha

"Those" types of layouts provide control for me, I have drilled everything there is to try...I said screw it a long time ago, and drill what I am consistent with.  I have a really slow ball speed with medium revs...symmeticals with a pin near (pin up or down) my centerline roll like turds for me, I would bring up cg....in or out but it don't matter.  I do best with no x-holes too, I guess that makes me terrible too.

This is all my older stuff when I was a Lil more experimental.  I figured out what works for me, and stuck to it.  There's no shame in my game.

The Freakin Frantic has the pin on the centerline.

Of all the Optimus videos I've seen, the ones with a shorter transition time roll better. The ones that have a longer transition time roll earlier and look kinda lazy down lane.

No problemo, bill, appreciate your posts. Helps give me an idea of what I'm gonna do. I seem to do real well with stronger pearls, so the Lucid was a mystery to me and I wasn't too impressed with some of the Optimus vids either. Can't wait to try it out though... :o

I absolutely love my LightsOut, and I use it more than any ball I have.  Love the shape, reaction, predictability...  I don't fare well with strong solids.  I have a fairly slow ball speed (12-13) with medium revs, more up the back, smooth.  Do you guys think an Optimus would be a good choice to go above the LightsOut?  I can play with the surface too.  Any other recommendations?

Thanks Bill, those sound like great recommendations.  I was eyeing up the Optimus and Hysteria!

Hysteria! Being a solid, it takes surface extremely well. Easy length and rolls phenomenal. My favorite piece in the bag right now.

Only recommended the hysteria because I really like my shout 2012 (also a polished solid)...and everyone seems to really really dig that hysteria, it must be the 'New Thing'...
