ball suggestions for a late shift leagues
« on: August 16, 2014, 09:12:51 PM »
I have slow ball speed and low revs. I track high. I bowl in a house that reoils before our league. Our league is 2nd shift, 3 man team. You would think the shot would stay for more that 4 frames. I keep moving in, playing out and still go high. I have even tried to stay in but I can't get the ball to finish so I leave flat 10's if I hit the right side pocket. I want a ball with a decent core but will not give me a hockey stick reaction. I'm trying to keep within storm/roto.  I was thinking of doing either a punch out but sand it to 3 or 4k. Enough to get the the heads and not overreact on the backend. I was also looking at doing the same thing with say a uproar. The breeze and scream I just don't like what I see from them. Any other suggestions I would be up to trying. Thanks.

What's wrong with the breeze? I had the solid and pearl and I also bowled a 2nd shift league - these two were the only balls I needed. They both were OOB.....

Does a round object have sides? I say yes, pizza has triangles..

The breeze may work.  I have issues with hockey stick type reactions though.  Of course adjusting the cover takes care of that.  Save me some money too.  After looking at the specs, I'm thinking the Hybrid may be something i could work with.

OK, I'll translate for you since you don't get it-

NOBODY CAN RECOMMEND A BALL FOR YOU IF YOU DON'T TELL THEM WHAT YOU ARE USING NOW.

What's wrong with the scream? My scream is a beast on dry lanes. The shout will not be as angular.

When you see a gap you need to fill, the best ball may not be exactly what you want. But it may be the best option. This was my thought when I asked my pro shop and he suggested the scream, so it was ordered, and have been happy with it.

Excluding the breezes and shout, you may have eliminated your best options for what you have asked for.

If you are leaving flat 10's when you move in you need something with a hockey stick reaction.  Strong pearls with long pins are what I like when I get in.  Marvel Pearl or Black Widow legend would be my first choices on the condition you describe since I have them in my bag.

I've tried everything i could possibly think of including what you have stated(not the same equipment).  I usually go through the nose.  If i miss it way right, i miss the pocket as the ball doesn't recover.  I wanted to go with a weaker cover so I can play a little more direct.  I did pick up a scream.  its got a 3.5-4.0 pin and top is like 3.25.  I haven't drilled it up yet.

Lets see,  since i supposedly need to specify the equipment i have to get some recommendation on here, here it goes-

Roto Grip Deranged
Roto Grip Asylum
Roto Grip Scream (not drilled)

Storm Lights Out
Storm Fire Road

900 Global Bank Roll
900 Global Break Out
900 Global Hard Drive
900 Global The Eagle Pearl
900 Global Black & Pink Hook

AMF Shred-It (2)

Radical Slant
Radical Torrid

Columbia Outburst
