My prediction - This ball will disappear about as fast as the Double Agent did.

Anyone think they are producing this ball simply to give Belmonte a chance on the viper/cheetah?  Seems very timely....

Actually I think people from certain areas that bowl on light oil conditions will buy this ball, because it has a core but a nice urethane cover. Something like the Liberator from Lane 1# but hopefully cheaper.

I think this is a great idea.  Im sorry that some people on this site dont think that a ball like this could be good.  This is why the sport in some ways is going backwards in my eyes.  Hook isnt always the answer.  In a typical league night at least where I am from I think about there would be many people who would score better with this than their stronger resin.  I guess most people here dont understand the difference between hook and roll out/burn up!!!

I love the idea of bringing back the urethane! As a rev dominant player [when need to be, over 450], I would like something to play straight up with.

Run with it!

Balls come and balls go, but I don't think Storm would create something they didn't feel they had a chance to sell a few of.

In the last couple of years, there has been a small segment of the market asking for a "good" urethane ball. Lane1 heard the call and created the Liberator. Visionary has had some urethanes in the past and is soon to release the urethane Ogre. Storm had the Thunder Flash back in 2000 (I think), and must see SOME need for a "niche" ball with a urethane coverstock.

It may be a "flash in the pan", but those who get their hands on one will be able to use it for years on the right condition.

And NO larrym, you can't polish your urethane ball between frames. Good thing is, with modern oil volumes, you shouldn't need to.

I think it's a great idea, especially for higher rev guys when they need to play straighter.

Incorrect. They can be applied by hand in the bowling area.

http://www.bowl.com/articleView.aspx?i=14963&f=1

Direct copy/paste from the article

"During competition, bowlers may apply bowling ball cleaners and polishes by hand in the bowling area only they cannot be applied outside of the bowling area (i.e. in the pro shop, locker room or equipment paddock) or with the use of a ball spinner. Cleaners and polishes used during competition must contain no solids or abrasives and be found on the list of acceptable Commercial Ball Cleaners/Polishes"
