Title: Natural
Post by: strikestriketapped on November 14, 2009, 08:32:33 AM
Thinking of taking my Natural up to 4000 abralon. It's drilled 4 1/4" from my PAP, pin in ring finger. It fits underneath my Fast, which is drilled 5" from my PAP, pin over fingers, 2000 polished. I don't find much a gap there right now because the Fast goes pretty long while the Natural obviously hooks earlier. I have wanted to try 2000 and polished on the Natural, but I don't know if that'll create too much of a gap between the Fast and the Natural. Thoughts?

Stroker, 250-275 RPM, 15 MPH ball speed, good axis rotation.

That's what I did because OOB it was stronger then I thought it would be. Go with 4000 and keep it more arc and will not squirt on carry down like it would polished.

I like mine with every finish I've tried. Currently it's at 4000 ab plus Reacta Shine. It gets down the lane better and has a little more backend. It still hooks pretty good! They don't put down a lot of conditioner where I bowl.

I would try different surfaces on your Natural. It is a urethane cover, so getting it back to a box finish is not a big deal like reactive balls can be. I have drilled a few Naturals already, and they are my go to balls on the new less volume PBA patterns. I have one with a lot of surface, and one with step 3 finish. I have had no problems changing the surface around, and back again.

Tommy,
Got my Natural finally and drilled it as you suggested.  Love it.  It was especially good on the Earl pattern this week in our PBAX league.  Thanks for your help with the layout.

Did a 4x4 drilled on mine with the pin being drilled out in my ring finger. Took Tommy G's advice and allowed the oil to build up on it, instead of cleaning it with alcohol after every game, just wiping it down with a storm micro fiber towel. It greats on old wood lanes like East Lincoln, or that dry/soaked shot Lincolnway Lanes in York currently has. Works great on Cheetah and the shot oil pattern we use for tournament sometimes. Tried to practice on every condition and it looks great even on a THS. What a great ball!!!
