Are these two balls very different from one another?

They're not extremely different, maybe overlap a little bit. I find the VE to be stronger and better when the lanes are broke down a little bit as opposed to the Cell Pearl losing some back end from early hook. The VE is definitely a stronger hooking ball on just about any condition, but on a fresh shot when there's lots of friction, my Cell Pearl will get up and move.

Wasn't for me...my Cell pearl was much more lengthy and would just skate on fresh oil, so I think it would depend on drilling as well.
