Thunderstruck
« on: April 25, 2008, 03:03:16 PM »
My thunderstruck solid just arrived today and I'll be getting it punched within the next week.  Just wanted to ask others on here who have the ball what they think about it.

What surface do you have on the ball, how versatile is the ball, is it stronger or weaker than adverstised, is it a dog when it runs into carry down?  That kind of stuff.

Thanks Guys

Mine is a very versatile ball that seems to take cover changes very well and has been quite durable.

Had it shined up, but our center flooded them a couple weeks ago, so I put a green scotchbrite finish on it, and now it pretty much laughs at heavier mediums and seems to ignore carrydown and may in fact be a bit too aggressive for me like this.  Shined up it could get a bit squirty on carrydown, but not really bad.

Ball can cover MANY conditions with the right surface prep.  Ball seems to always fool me by being a bit stronger than I am expecting.

I plugged mine to give it a little earlier hook, and it came alive.  I took the polished surface to 4000.  It seems to take surface changes really well.  The carry is unbelievable, especially on light hits.  Very versatile, it reminds me of my old Storm Eraser PBT.  This is the first ball out of my bag where ever I go.

I would see how it works shiny and then start trying something like 2000 abralon to see the difference.
