Shift core, solid R2S cover, looks like another strong ball up there with the Special Agent and T-Road solid.

Replacement for the Passion, I think. Strong asymmetric core, dull-ish strong solid reactive cover. Sounds about right to me.

This is one of the balls I have been waiting for Storm to make - but I am surprised that it is being finished at a factory 2000 Abralon.
I agree with shelley I think this is the Passion replacement - but with a 2000 finish and marketing positioning as a medium-heavy oil ball this leaves the current Storm line-up with 3 medium-heavy dull reactive balls.
Hmmmm....

Well it has the assym core for MB tweakage.

wow this ball looks great. I never drilled a shift i dunno why but i heard great things. I cant see myself drilling one of these though since i already got to pretty strong pieces right now with my Secret Agent and Sure Fire. I wonder how it will take to surface adjustments. My Secret Agent was terrible at 4000 but when i got it to 1000 it was a monster in oil.

Sorry, I didn't say this right. My question is more of a marketing one less of a product question.
I am convinced that Abralon (with a ball spinner) is the greatest invention ever for home ball surfacing, so any of these balls can easily be changed from 500-4000. I guess what I was saying was that since this is a logical replacement for the Passion why wouldn't Storm release it as 500 or 1000 factory in order to claim a heavy oil replacement ball?
-
My guess would be that Storm has tested it at different surfaces and determined that the masses will fall in love with it at box finish of 2000 abr. Storm probably also knows that the more experienced players will not hesitate to see what it does at lower grits or with polish.
Remember the Special came out of the box at 2000 abr and if you take it down to 500, it will hook on the longest of patterns.
