Pearl Hy-road? I thought the "HY" in Hy-road came from the fact that it was a HYbrid coverstock to begin with. To have a HY-road that is NOT a HYbrid just seems odd.

As for the Marvel S, I can see that. The Marvel line was successful, but the solid left something to be desired by many, so why not try a new solid cover in that line, even if only to give it to those who want a full lineup of one model?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Storm's International releases are void of scent, correct?

It's fairly consistent, but more than a few non-domestic releases have had scents.

Sync Pearl - Orange Berry
Virtual Gravity XRS - Red Hot Cinnamon
Virtual Gravity Nano 300ADV - Green Mint
Lucid Vision - Blueberry
Vivid Dream - Fruit Punch
IQ Score - Magic Mint

Perhaps the bowlers in Asia are starting to grow fond of scented high performance pieces...

I was extremely interested in the pearl,.... until I looked at the core numbers. True, the same core but the diff is lowered by .012 and the RG is a bit too high. What made the T-Road Pearl so wonderful is it was a smooth rolling pearl that covered a lot of boards for a low price. It almost seems like a weaker version of the Fireroad. It will be slightly flippier than the Tour Pearl because of the difference in diff.

It just seems odd because the have the Lights Out which will have close to the same rg and a small diff difference. The Marvel seems interesting. It's been a good while since I've had a particle Symmetrical. All the Marvels were a beast, so long as you used them for the intended condition.

Marvel S will actually be a replacement for the poor selling IQ. Same core with a high traction cover. I think the PFT is a bit questionable and maybe this is Storm's way of acknowledging it.

As someone mentioned, Storm did this with the Invasion/Anarchy line. Core cover combo was too strong and so they backed away and used a tweak of the tried and true (VG) to develop the Nanos.

Unless I am mistaken, the core # for the Pearl Hyroad are the same as the Hyroad and the T-Road series (inverted Fe2). The Fire Road and Crossroad have the inverted Fe3, which has slightly higher diff and lower RG.

But im confused. If the marvel-s is a replacement because the core and cover combo made it lazy, why use a stronger cover? Plus, i thought the marvel series needed another polished cover and storm storm did not release nrg polished.
By the way, i liked the invasion/anarchy line. I felt it too strong of a cover for house shot bowlers. If it used r2x, it would have really succeeded. R3x with the iq tour series core could work because it allows the cover to use its true power. No?

Its not the same, look at the numbers. Same core, different numbers. 2.52RG and .057 Rg Diff for the T-Road Pearl, 2.57 And .038 For this pearl offering. It'll be longer and weaker than the Original T-Road Pearl

Are you talking about the 15# or 16? 15 was 2.57 .042 in the Hyroad

Also, does anyone else think that Storm intends the Marvel-S to be pronounced 'Marvellous'? Because that would make it quite a clever name...

http://www.stormbowling.com/products/balls/classic/t-road-pearl

2.52 RG .058 Diff

http://www.stormbowling.com/products/balls/hy-road

2.57 RG .047 Diff

and this new offering, the Pearl "Hyroad" is pretty much the same ball as the T-Road  Pearl. All 3 have the same core however the numbers are altered to give different reactions. l was excited about the Pearl Hyroad because with the same core and cover as the T-Road Pearl, it would make for a hugely formmitable piece...... that I would have bought a case of. LOL! However, with the slightly longer and weaker numbers, for me it would not make sense to get one when the Lights Out numbers are close and a slightly stronger cover.

James, go to the "catalog sheets". The # you are quoting for the T-pearl are the 16# numbers. The 15# is the same as the Hyroad @ 2.57 .046. All the T-roads used the same core.
