New Release?
« on: March 13, 2005, 05:21:11 PM »
I know it's still early, though usually we hear about any new releases from storm by now (Though they usually come out a month after the first word). Is there anything in the next month, 2 months? Thanks...

Well, there is the Hot Rod Hybrid. How did they ever let that ball escape?

Quite honestly, I have not heard of another triple x. If storm has a different one, it is one that may have not been approved. I know they do that on the tour they leave the name of the ball the same, same or close to the same colors, but with different coverstock and block. I hope that storm brings out equipment that reads the oil down lane better because I am seeing  more oil down lane than ever before. The vertigo was a start and hopefully more good balls will come. However, I must say this. Storm needs to do something that is good as the absolute inferno. I say this because I have drilled 2 AI and they read the lanes better for me than some of the current masterline equipment. I really liked the deuce and the original x factor but the extreme and triple xxx did not read good for me at all. Believe me, I drilled 4 of each and still was not quite pleased. It will be interesting to see what happens with their next masterline release(s).

Every few years a manufacturer comesupon a design that works for everyone that throws it. The Original V2 was like that and then all the manufacturers tried to make a version of that ball. Now its the Absolute Inferno, I Imagine everyone is trying to make one simliar. The tour bowls on Brunswick oil and Brunswick lanes most of the time so its only prudent that Brunswick

The Vertigo and Oracle vision were Storm/Roto's first attempt to get balls that react similiarly to the inferno line in the midlane and carrydown.

I look for more similiar offerings in the near future.

The coverstock on the Vertigo has a new urethane base material in it. It is still considered Monsoon, but the base material is from a different supplier

that would explain why HK Reseach's Logos are not on any information anymore.

Sounds like storm's relationship has gone through the courts for divorce proceedings.

Correction on my earlier post : The SFA material is from HK but not the Monsoon family. Its a new material blend that was developed specifically to better handle the new oils and new conditions which are unusually slick. The SFA maintains higher friction over time too than the Accu-Tread or Monsoon....so longer performance and more hook. So HK is still the supplier. This cover is not actually Monsoon or Accu-Tread though, just a new material.

sorry for the confusion
