New Storm Ball
« on: January 10, 2011, 07:00:46 AM »
On Storm's webpage under the news tab,  there is talk about Storm releasing a new ball on Feb 1'st you have to be a fan of storm on facebook to get the first info on the new ball, just curious if anyone has any info they would like to share?  I'm assuming a new premier line ball maybe a hybrid version of the invasion line but who knows.....

I'd like to see the El Nino make a comeback of sorts. Maybe the El Nino core with a more modern coverstock. Since El Nino was the big thing in the 90s with weather patterns, they can make a new ball called the "2012" for this generation. El Nino core/Hy-Road cover

The first sentences of the Storm ad are:

"There is always room for improvement…

That’s why we took the best selling ball in Storm’s history and made it better."

Okay, so what ball was Storm's best selling ball?

I'm guessing it was either the El-Nino in all of its different versions or the X-Factor in all of its different versions.

Any other ideas out there?

If I am not mistaken, their best selling ball of all time is the Virtual Gravity.

I guess I couldn't blame Storm for putting out another Virtual Series ball. It probably will be the Virtual Gravity Nano. A R3x pearl cover like the one on the Anarchy would really be nice however.

Man, like a few others have said, take the original rad or rad + core  and put the R2S or R3S cover on it, now that would be one interesting  ball!! The Rad + core is storms strongest core to date and I know this because I have 3 paradigm passions all drilled differently and they HOOK. You all should see what my first passion does on a bunch of oil....lol!

Bowling is fun, enjoy it, don't hate it

Quite a few of the overseas Dominations already combined these wonderful parts. I have a Xtacy Domination (Rad+/r2s pearl), Xtacy Tour Domination (Rad+/r2x pearl), World Domination (same as Xtacy), and a Tour Domination (Rad+/r3x pearl), and a Super Domination (r2x solid/Rad+).

The Xtacy/Xtacy Tour were my 1/2 punch last season. The Tour and World are NIB.

You are correct about the Rad+ core being the strongest to date and it is my firm belief that it is among the best hitting core designs I have seen. Although I don't use many of these anymore I could put 4 of them in my bag and cover any possible condition out there.

Thanks for chiming in:) That is why I have 3 paradigm passions and might try to pick up an original paradigm or one of the over seas pearl releases with r2s possibly. The cores do hit very hard!! And you can see the core turn the ball over in the mid lane and the backend :D  Do you happen to know where I could pick up a World domination or Xtacy domination for a decent price in 15 lbs??

Description: Storm is known for producing the best high performance balls on the market. When the Virtual Gravity was released in 2008, it not only turned heads but gave bowlers of all skill levels an unprecedented amount of hook on even the oiliest lanes imaginable. The new Virtual Gravity Nano is intended to create a similar yet stronger ball motion built specifically for heavy oil. This can be accomplished with either a stronger coverstock (texture) or more aggressive weight block (lower radius of gyration or increased differential). As the original Virtual Gravity quickly became Storm‟s all-time best seller, the new Nano is sure to follow in its footsteps...and yes, those are big shoes to fill! Looking at the original Virtual Gravity, the Shape-Lock HD weight block/core system produced a fast-revving action that especially helped bowlers looking for a stronger change of direction usually privy to only those with big rev rates! The Shape-Lock HD motor will continue to power the Nano as well. A breakthrough in coverstock technology rarely happens due to the complex nature of chemistry and polymer science. But Storm's research and development team is committed to maintaining the "pole position" in bowling innovation, so it's no surprise that we are changing the game yet again with the new NRG cover. With Nanotechnology, NRG will give bowlers increased oil traction due to the micro-dynamic enhancements of the surface. Just looking at the surface of the new NRG material shows you the increased surface texture between the peaks and valleys, as well as the more aggressive edges on the top of the peaks! We're continuing to push the envelope; we just hope you are ready for it.

I don't think anyone had posted a link to the product itself so here you go: Storm Virtual Gravity Nano
