Hyroad Max - normal Hyroad core with solid Nex (Axiom - Proton Physix) cover.
Incite - new unique asymmetrical core with hybrid R4S.
Both on Storms webpage.
-
The videos of the balls are now on YouTube, too.
I'm all over the Incite when it comes out. My eye likes to see that type of reaction on the lanes. The fact that it is a hybrid with R4S did it for me at first sight. Nice! LOL.
However, I will probably pass on the Hy-Road Max. I never really liked the reaction of the O.G. from the start, so I don't see myself getting this one. Plus, it may compete with my NEX Axiom and Axiom Pearl.
See you in February! :)

I agree. Hyroad max is a pass. After the hyroad nano flop (for me) I’ll pass on that core with a strong cover.
The incite on the other hand looks to be a just what the doctor order replacing my old Physix.

I wish they would bring back the Inverted Fe3 or Booster core for a little bit instead of the Inverted Fe2
I've matched up better with the Victory Roads, CrossRoad, and Rocket series over the HyRoads.
Incite looks interesting. It seems to fill a similar spot to the Parallax

Question for Northface:
What was it about the Hyroad Nano that you didn't like??

It was either too much or not enough and when it did work I had other balls that did what it did better.

Strong cover on the High RG Hy-Road core from my experiences and all the ones i've drilled for others, has been no so good, and that video of the Max, yeah hard pass.
That Incite though, looked really good, be interesting to see it right next to a Physix, because it might be a tad punchier downlane and close in strength.

The Insite is intriguing to me. Will this ball be overlapping anything in my current arsenal that includes the Gravity Evolve, Omega Crux, and Phaze 3?

It will be closest to your Omega, but overall I'm not thinking it'll be too similar. it should be in between the Omega and the P3.
-
In theory it “should†fit between the Omega Crux and Phaze III
-
Yep. That R4S hybrid cover is the wildcard. How strong is it? I'm guessing it should be weaker than the GI-20 on the Omega Crux but who knows what the 2021 iteration of R4S is like.
As far as I remember the only balls with anything R4S stateside were the Fight and Street Fight five years ago now. And the core in those balls limited them to more of a niche category.
I'm with the general consensus about the new Hy-Road Max too. Just don't see that lopey core being paired with an even stronger cover producing better results than we've seen before with similar attempts. And I like green... but that color is atrocious.
-
Color reminds me of the Hammer Vicious Particle.
-
Honest opinion: They got the covers backwards.
-
Maybe....but I’ll try a Max. Loved the Hyroad X and Nano.
-
The Max is a lot better than I thought it would be. I think NeX is strong and just clean enough to overcome some of the mismatches that previous solid covers over that core had before. Even later on the dry didn't cause it to puke after 50 feet. This was definitely one of the demo day stars we had here today.

Well, it is finally available!! The Hy-Road Max. I just drilled mine up here a few days ago. I drilled it using my normal layout 45x 3 ½ x 45 which puts the pin kicked out a little above my ring finger. I was looking forward to this release as well since it will be my first ball in the Hy-Road line up that I have gotten to drill. I like the length the Max gives me down lane. The Max has a smooth ball motion and does not seem to over hook of the friction yet is very continuous. It is controllable which I like. The Max would be a good compliment to the Axiom or the Phaze 2 even when the lanes break down and you need something longer and more controllable with a still have the strong backend motion. If you’re a fan of the Hy-Road line up the Max with a big winner!!
