I hope they both look better in person...:(
-
Not what I was looking for, bill. Gotta be honest, I'll wait and see some vids, but not what I was looking for at all.
-
the reign on is just a reign supreme re-release. but i guess with this "new" R2S formula
-
The byte logo looks like one of the columbia logos from a few years ago. The momentum I believe.

Its at 4000 grit abralon...no polish...I believe its something like the roto berserk...in terms of cover type and finish
-
I think they both look really good. I like dark colors
-
Both seem to utilize that same silver/white pearl found on the Wrecker. I've heard that the pigment used for that is partially responsible for the strength of it's reaction.

factory surface means nothing......why do people say its not the same ball if the factory surface is different?
-
Reign On? Ill pass, if its not a Hyroad or Lights Out, I'm not interested. But the Byte looks good, will probably replace my aging Lucid come OCT 1st.

It means nothing if..........you change it right away, or don't understand how surface affects the balls reaction.

the byte is just a sync pearl from japan which we all know
but the reign...wth r2s and not pft??
what is storm doing with the reign line and the road line??is it to replace the hyroad?
also expected a hybrid iq
-
I actually like the look of the Reign On, not sure about the Byte, not really my taste.

Not the same as the Japanese Sync Pearl and Premium Sync... the Byte has a slightly higher RG core with less overall and intermediate differential.
-
Both look interesting, but I'm waiting for the IQ Tour Hybrid. :)
-
Sorry but.... Yawn.. neither one of these doing much for me.
-
It says the reign is a skid/flip ball which i think is linked to the pigments as aforrmentioned. However, i think if storm does decide to release a iq tour hybrid, it will replace the hy-road.

An IQ Tour Hybrid would be nothing close, reaction wise, to a Hyroad. If it was easy to replace a Hyroad, they would have done so by now. Believe me, they have tried.
-
Not to mention it would not even be in the same tier as the Hyroad. Master line vs. Thunder line.
-
The Byte should be a very nice ball. Love my Lucid.
-
No it wouldn't fit in the same tier. But that doesn't mean it won't be the next benchmark. Look at the nano, lights out, reign of power. None of them are weaker than their predecessors. I know the hy-road doesn't share with the iq tours just talking about the role it would fill is the the same concept as the hy-road. Of course speculating will do no good seeing how "iq tour hybrid" was not the ball listed for approval. Sorry for hijacking.

I threw this one during a demo day two days ago. Don't pass on it till you've thrown it. I wasn't interested in it because even though I liked my original Reign, I wasn't in love with it enough to follow the rest of the Reign line. I threw this one just because it was there and everyone else was in line to throw the byte. I loved it. Huge surprise. Slightly stronger, slightly smoother and carried better than my Hy-road.
I'm not saying it's the ball to end all balls but if you get the chance to try one, you should definitely give it a look.
