I don't recommend the marvel S to too many people.

Go with something different, the Crux will be great!

Wait and see, its pretty irresponsible to recommend balls sight unseen that are not out yet.

Yeah buying new balls is too risky.

Especially when they have lightbulb cores with nearly the same core values as the last release, also with a hybrid cover from 2 proven balls.

Better wait! I'm so glad he spoke up! I retract my recommendation..

Out of curiosity, how can you call the cover the "proven ERG hybrid" when I can't find that cover on any other ball?

I realize the components of the cover might be considered proven and it is more of a marketing tool, but at least say what the proven coverstock was on.  Unless that ball sucked.....

You guys look into things way too much.  Where is the fun in trying something new.  You make me feel like I need to hide underneath a rock, hermit style becuase:
Storm put successful erg solids and pearls, and NOW are going to make a hybrid of the 2....

'might not be good'

Storm doesn't make 'whack' lol.

I'll be getting the crux, It may or may not be great, but it will be good.

I like the colors. Think Defiant with white instead of blue. I believe Storm has found something positive with the White Pearl. It is now in the Sinister, Deranged, Crux, Punch Out, and overseas the Demented, and Fortune. I likey!

edit- and the Optimus, OutCry, Wrecker have white!

being up with a crying baby makes you forget a couple  :-[

I'm almost always a fan of the color purple being incorporated in bowling balls.

Forgot the Optimus/OutCry/Wrecker/DeepDefiant/CriticalTheory/ but agree on the fact that maybe they found something positive!! Maybe Storm was actually able to find the real deal with white color that hammer tried with the Jigsaws

I think it looks good.  The trick with white (and storm nailed it) is to keep it pearl so it doesn't pick up dirt as easily and blend it with other colors that make it pop.  All white doesn't work...

This one I'm going to have to see first hand to be impressed. The Optimus is a beast and Hysteria and Sinister are going to be awesome as well, all of which get it off the backend. I just don't see where this one is going to fit. Maybe with storm releasing a new core design Roto Grip will re-release an oldie but goodie. Like a straight pearl cover on the Nucleus???????? (Drools)

Doesn't look any much stronger than the Zero Gravity. Appeal wise it reminds me of a Lane #1 GrindR but with black...  8)

I think it looks a lot cleaner in the front and more angular on the back, probably a "longer and stronger in the back sinister"

Idk what you're looking at but I saw one ball finish through the pins, and one barely make the the turn and basically deflect.
Besides its an earlier finsih with the same ERG BUT hybrid so you should just see a slightly different hook shape due to it's new core!

If I didn't have a Sync Perfect with holes in it already, I would probably be drooling to get my hands on one of these.

Reminds me of my Optimus, only stronger... and that ain't a bad thing. One more ball for the season for me, torn between this one and the Sinister.

I'm hoping so but I'm still not sold.... you can take the cover from the Lucid and Vivid, mix them together and get back end motion... but that's just me.

Storm did do something similar to what you suggested, it's an overseas release called the Vivid Dream.  It's a pearl NRG cover with the M.A.D. core.  You can also find hem on ebay quite frequently.  Here is a link (not Ebay) for the specs:

Some people are going to buy this ball and be upset at the reaction because of how strong it is and them not really having a condition to play it on if what they are reporting the ball can do is right. Then they are gonna complain. It is just the nature of the beast.

Bowler's Deals has the video for this up . . it's basically a Sinister.  I see VERY little difference between the two.  Of course I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing, because the Sinister is a really good ball . .

Condition specific equipment. But people always have to go out and buy the next best hooking monster. As stated above, it will be a complaint after complaint. It will be either it moves too much or it moves less but really its moving more than too much as it will hook at your feet.

There ain't enough oil volume at Dream Lanes to use a Crux or a Sinsiter.  :)

The Crux is the reason we will stop stocking the Sinister on the wall..... it's 5/3 stronger than the Sinister. Eventually, they will have stroker in the left gutter cap....

From what little I've seen, Sinister > Crux
Title: Re: New Storm Crux
Post by: Gizmo823 on September 26, 2014, 12:05:32 PM
I saw the Crux in action last night.  It rolls very similar to the Sinister and hook potential is nearly identical, and I actually give the nod to the Sinister on hook potential.  If anything, the Crux is SLIGHTLY smoother on the back, but that might be the more aggressive box finish on the Crux.  With the same surface, Sinister = Crux.
