I'm not sure I'm a fan of only 3 real releases and some spare balls. It's be nice if instead of the cube the clear spare ball had the jesus core.

The NOS core is another recycled core design. I would assume different densities and inverting the core are responsible for the pre-drilled RG and diff. values.

Not that the age of R&D on a core really affects how the ball plays...

This is pretty consistent with what Storm did last year as far as the performance releases go...if i remember correctly they had the Virtual Energy, Fast, Furious, and natural come out last year around bowl expo...followed closely by the reign a month or 2 later.  They just added a few more choices on the spare ball side this year.

^^^^  what other companies offer DIFFERENT spare balls???
(NOT JUST DIFFERENT COLORS)

Brunswick Target Zones, Columbia white dots, Ebonite Maxims, all have multiple colors to their spare balls. Brunswick also has the Viz-a balls. With Storm, not only do you have two different colors to choose from in the Ice Storm, you also have a few different styles as well.

The lack of a decent core in the 12 and 13 pound 2 Fast, and 2 Furious is unfortunate. This will be a sore point when competing with the Brunswick lines.

Will they keep the original fast and furious or discontinue them?

I'm 99% Sure it is symmetric for 3 reasons

1.  As said before, the Master line has typically been Storms high end symmetric pieces...agents, dimensions, etc...

2.  The core looks symmetric in the picture

3.  There is no mention of intermediate diff on the spec sheet.

I am extremely excited about this release, i absolutely love my second dimensions...one of the most versatile balls on the planet in my eyes...and i love that they are using that cover again on another core

i expect this ball to be able to cover a wide range of conditions with surface changes and a few different layouts just like the second dimension does for me.

Yeah.  The core numbers are similar...but it is symmetric and might read the lane a touch earlier.  But with the right surface prep and pin placement, this ball is going to kick butt just you watch.

It seems like storm is applying a similar logic that they used to create the reign.  They had a good ball and reaction in the T-Road pearl and decided to alter the core shape to provide a slightly different look.  Rather than coming up with a whole different concept or a completely different reaction they chose to use their previous success to ensure their future success.

The prodigy has the same proven coverstock of the second dimension, with similar core numbers (lower rg and higher diff).

The 2 fast and 2 furious utilize the same coverstocks as the fast and furious respectively, with similar core numbers (lower rg and higher diff).

Based on the numbers without seeing these balls on the lanes, it seems like storm may be looking for a heavier roll in their line than the previous offerings provided.  The decrease in rg and the increase in diff. may be as a result of a perception that their offerings are loping a bit with the constant changes in lane oils (perhaps specifically the changes to the PBA patterns? Although success on PBA patterns doesn't really indicate how the average person will score with a particular ball, the success of staffers certainly plays a role in the public perception of equipment and the overall sales)

The Prodigies core looks like the Gravity Core and Agent core had a baby.
