The mouse-over effect on the arsenal page is extremely frustrating.  Move the mouse away from the thumbnail and the info disappears.  For balls far to the right or lower on the page, I basically can't see the ball, description, and thumbnail at the same time, meaning I can't see the info for those balls.

I'd either break it up into several pages (not optimal), or get rid of the mouse-over effect.  Maybe have a text list, then when a ball is clicked, it shows in the info section.

BTW, this is using Camino on OS X.  I know the three people who use that browser probably don't really matter.

Jeff,

It's interesting to see that you use such long pin-pap distances on all of your balls, what's the reason for that?

Post by: Jeff Carter on June 07, 2006, 11:12:46 PM
With the relatively low volumes of oil in the heads on Tour, i need my equipment to get through the heads clean, pick up a roll in the midlane, and continue through the pins. When i use pins closer to my PAP, the ball wants to stand up too early and burn up on me. Thats why the only balls that i have with the pins right of the center line are balls that i generally play out with

He isn't that flashy or fun to watch. Everytime I see him bowl all he does is strike and strike and strike. ***Yawn***

JEff,
Nice job with the aresenal pics and descriptions. Will help alot of Storm Lovers see how different pins and weight holes and surface on the same ball give such a different look.

Jeff,

Very nice site. I really like the way you have the arsenal section and you can see the ball, not just a descritpion you can give.

Dude, the pain i've been experiencing stems from years of bowling abuse on my body. Driving 10-16 hours at a time doesnt exactly help you lower back and hip. I've got tendonitis in my shoulder and wrist/hand and i broke a bone in my right foot years ago that never healed properly. But thanks to some incredible work by my chiropractor over the last 6 weeks, i'm pretty much pain free.

I'm been working with Etonic to get my sole combinations to be as close to what i had with Dexter as i can. I wear 2 slide shoes because i shuffle my feet, and the "gum-tread" sole catches on me. I think we got 1 pair of shoes taken care of, and i'm having another pair of shoes made right now

Jeff,

Nice work on the website.  Kudos on the arsenal section.  Your explainations of how each ball matches up to your game on various patterns is very informative.  I think that type of info is sorely lacking on ESPN.  They talk about oil patterns and making ball changes and so on, but they never mention the specific ball being used and why that particular ball matches up in certain situations.

thanks for a great site.

Actually Mench, the wall of fame is bowling memorobilia from other bowlers. Most people collect autographed baseballs, hats, etc... I collect autographed bowling balls, pins, pictures, shirts, etc...
