299 with 2nd Dimension

Came home from school over the weekend, went to my "home" house to bowl a few games...wanted to try out the 2nd on a predictable shot.
Went 221, 207, 299, 237. Left a smash 8 pin in the 299. ouch. Ball hits great, just having some problems getting 8's and 9's out.
The aggressive backend absolutely opened up the lane on the fresh THS. Zero problem getting to the pocket. And still smells like heaven

Predictable shot?  What the hell is that?  I haven't seen a predictable shot in three weeks now.  Even the house shot at Kingpin (normally one of the easiest house shots in Louisville) has been very wet/dry lately.  I've barely even gotten to use my 2nd Dimension since we've had SO much friction lately.  I only got to use it six frames last night after carrydown finally started to affect my entry angle, and threw strikes with it every pitch.  I can't wait to actually see a condition where I can actually take advantage of this ball.

WHAT? KINGPIN NOT PREDICTABLE? must be signs of the apocolypse. Easily the definition of "wall of china" lol.
No, I worked up at Ten Pin for a little over 3 1/2 years, so I know everybody up there and they know me. Even though I dont work there anymore because of school, they still give me discounts, so I bowl there almost every time I go home. The old TP shot used to be hard, but they walled it up with the Fern Valley house shot...so yeah, its very predicatable lol...

My 2nd is laid out pin above ring, cg slightly right and above palm, weight hole 1 inch wide and 2 inches deep right of thumbhole. I will try and get picks later on for you...

Haha, seriously.  Kingpin used to be stupid easy.  But now they recently added a ton more friction outside of 8, so it's even more of a wall, which in my opinion makes it tougher.  The ball wants to snap sideways as soon as you get it outside at all, and if you hold it inside, you'll leave flat 10s all night.  (There's so much friction outside, I threw my Ice Storm straight up 5 and left the 6-10.  Bear in mind I don't have much rev rate!)  When the lanes start to break down, they get really, really unpredictable.  I've thrown several shots lately I felt would be kinda weak and hit light that ended up going through the face and leaving the 4-6-10.  This is definately not the Kingpin I've known from the past couple years, the place where I could go shoot a 279 at the drop of a hat for a confidence boost if I'm struggling elsewhere!

(BTW, reminds me, I haven't been to Ten Pin since they renovated the place, I need to check it out soon)

And I actually did get to throw my Second Dimension Saturday night at Executive toward the end of the 3rd game when the oil finally started to carry down and my Spit Fire stopped turning the corner.  It gave me a much better look now that I've tweaked the surface.  I got to use it for about a game and a half last night at Fern Valley as well -- we were right in front of the front doors, one of the pairs that always has a ton of friction outside, and I was swinging it from 10 to 5 on fresh oil with medium speed and bringing it back high flush, but after just a few frames I had to start chasing it left every frame and it started overhooking in the midlane, so I had to put it up until even my Spit Fire was hooking too much.  I switched back to the Second Dimension and moved deeper inside, playing about 12 to 9, with a lot of speed and less axis rotation.  However, my normally good spare shooting last night was AWOL for some reason (missed two 10 pins AND two 3-6-10s, normally I convert those fairly easily!), so the scores were pretty awful.  I'm going to go practice today after work and see if I can figure out where my accuracy went...

I saw the 2D in two different bowlers hands yesterday. One with 450+ rpms and 19+ speed and the other about with less hand and similar speed.

Heavy roll, predictable move, good pop at the pindeck. Looks like a winner.

Good pop? rofl...I think 90 degree angle is an understatement. This thing snaps.

OOB mine snapped bigtime at the breakpoint.  As soon as I smoothed out the cover some (I took it to 2000 abralon then added Snake Oil by hand so that it didn't get too shiny), it completely changed the reaction.  Much more midlane roll, a MUCH more controllable hard arcing motion.

Shot 279 last night with it leaving a swish 7 pin, had pins bouncing all around the pin but did not go down. That was ball 10 of course the fill ball was flush and everything went straight back, oh well 4 th 279 this year in leagues.
