Ready for a Code Red to come stateside. Want that R2S Hybrid on this amazing core in my hands! Makes me wonder which cover will be on the next stateside code release. I'll be buying it.
-
My guess would be a Nano Lock coming up next but it's hard to predict. Code Red would make sense too though.
-
They need a solid lock. Which the sure lock, or nano lock is suspected to be that ball.
If the first lock gets replaced a code could take its place with a sanded pearl hybrid finish.
Great core if u ask me!!
-
I doubt we see a hybrid code yet. My guess would be solid code next. With the timeless Belmo ball coming out next month using a hybrid a R2S. I don't think they are going to want another hybrid just yet. That is unless they wait until the summer time for the next code release.
-
Thoughts on which solid coverstock they choose for the Code? NRG, R2S, R3S...
-
Both solid overseas releases used NRG so that would be my guess. There was the code black limited and the code blue.
-
Code blue maybe???? I agree that a solid lock is needed in the lock series, the original lock is special.
-
They are not gonna bring out a hybrid code anytime soon when they bringing out the hybrid timeless soon.
-
Looks like regular Code Blue is R3S Pearl and the Code Blue SP is the NRG Solid. I would buy a Solid or Hybrid stateside. I mention stateside because I get a discount at my PSO and can't do the international release pricing, otherwise I realize I could hit Marc up for one.
-
Code Red SP was another Solid along the Black Limited and Blue SP... it had the R3S Solid (1500 polished) released in 2015
Great majority of the Codes are pearlized and remakes (just different color/scent)
There was a leak of a Code Perfect (R2S Hybrid) a few weeks back... I would think that's next to release overseas.
As for USA, it is confirmed more Codes will come (and not all of them from overseas). Would rather see a brand new one over a remake played off as new.
... Nano Lock would be interesting to see released in the states. It took Storm a few years to bring the R3S Pearl here (Snap Lock). The Nano Lock has the NRG Smooth cover (notable NRG Smooth releases: Marvel Maxx [original, 2, and Gold], Virtual Gravity N/S, and Wild Bite Extreme). The NRG Smooth cover is very impressive... I would describe it as a urethane motion but with enough strength to cover the boards of reactive pieces.
I'm more curious about what (and who's) signature line release is coming after the Timeless?? Osku! lol :P
-
I wonder if there will be a "PDW" signature line to go along with Belmo. Hes been with Storm the longest i believe.

PDW..Duke..I'm sure they will run with this for a few.
-
Years ago, Norm had a signature ball released in the Hammer line. I don't think PDW has ever gone down that road.
-
There was a PDW a bunch of years ago and I think it was overseas. I know I had one, I don't remember much about it though.
This Signature line I think is going to be a big seller for them and will last a while. It is a good way to market their staff.

If it was long enough ago, was that PDW ball an AMF product?
-
Brunswick did this for a few balls, Petraglia, Walter, PB3, Aulby, etc.

It was Storm.... http://123bowl.com/bowling-balls/overseas-balls/pdw/

There was a ton of Dick Weber releases way back on AMF I believe.... would cool to go retro with a PDW tribute ball to Dad...
-
Code Platinum? I happened to find this by accident.... it's on the Storm web site under "Private Label" balls:

Looks like a Code Black with R2X coverstock...

The Code Black was the first of the Code series in 2013, there have been a total of 14.
Most recent on the approved list Code Platinum (3/16), Code Black Limited (11/16), and Code Perfect (1/17)
The majority of the Code series has used R2S pearl or R2X pearl. There is 1 with R3S pearl and 1 with R3S solid, 1 with R2S hybrid, and I think 2 with NRG solid

Well with the Sure Lock recently dropping. I still wonder if a hybrid Code is next to replace the og Lock.
Does Storm maintain a 45 day release schedule? Master line is down to two balls so I'm guessing it'll get something, then the next Code.
-
As pjr300 mentioned, platinum maybe???

A hyrbid non polished would be nice!

Also refer to my first comment on this post. Sure lock it was lol

Yep you called that one lol. Let's see how close you are on the Code.
-
Jason Belmonte has used the Hy-Road quite often in competition, so it made sense the Timeless is a stronger ball with hybrid coverstock on it.
Pete Weber has used many different balls in the last few years (Marvel S, Optimus, IQ balls, Alpha Crux, Wreck-em, etc.) Perhaps a PDW ball in the signature line will feature the RAD4 weight block as in the Code Black with a new and updated, or most recent version of, the Hybrid coverstock. I can't see another strong reactive solid coming out so soon after the release of the Sure Lock.
Maybe the PDW ball will be a totally new weight block paired with a Hybrid or R3S Pearl coverstock.

Being that they discontinued the lock (right?) It for sure will be coming in either a code, rules or Crux (hopefully not)
They will, I bet, try to keep a sanded pearl/hybrid around being they have so many HP lines.

I'll ask this here instead of creating a new topic since we're already talking about international market.
Is there anything illegal about using international balls here? I'm in the navy and a few ports we sometimes hit are likely to have some kind of bowling center. I'm curious if I were to ever buy a ball out there on deployment and bring it home and get it drilled if it were to be legal for USBC here

As long as its on the approved ball list.
Code Red Limited on the approved list. Maybe we'll be getting the Code Red?? Storm made the Code Black Limited for overseas when they gave us the Code Black

That would be awesome. Really want to try this core in another cover.

Still waiting...With any luck it'll be in the May/June releases, otherwise until August.
-
While you're waiting for the 2nd Code to release stateside, the 15th Code (Red Limited) is to be released overseas.

People wishy washy for a release that is actually available exclusively. In reality, you don't want it bad enough, you want it spoon fed

Where to start here... Not that I "don't want it bad enough" or that I want spoon fed but I'll be dammed if I'm paying $350-$400 for a bowling ball...will never happen...ill literally quit the game entirely before that happens
-
To each's own... Investment isn't half bad if you can make earnings from bowling.
You won't spend $350-$400 on a ball, but you probably would for 2 to 3 USA releases all together... This is probably in correlation as to why golfers can make millions, and bowlers need side jobs.
-
You're 100% correct that I do not want it bad enough to go the international route at ~$350. Stateside version for me would be out the door $180 plus tax and that's the whole works(slugs, grips, etc).
I also wonder if international releases are testing waters to really see how the core/combo pairs up, and then when they find that winning combo, it becomes the basis for our release. Could be wrong, just a thought there.

Uhhh...where do I get that Pink Bear spare ball?!?
