Take a look at my profile for the current arsenal.
I have an opportunity to pick up one of the following balls, and I can't make up my mind...
I kinda need a dry lane ball to replace my orange messenger, since it's plugged, and I'll have to get rid of it. I had almost decided on the Sonic X for this slot. However, my original choice on this deal was a Trauma Recovery, which is no longer available.

Please - those of you who know these balls - help me out - let me know the pros and cons of each of these balls.

My choices are:
Trauma ER
Shock Trauma
Eraser Boost
Eraser Blaze
Too Hot
Hot Rod

A lot of people like a short pin for a dry lane ball. A long pin with the pin placed over the fingers will give more length, but also a lot more snap that will be hard to control on dry lanes. A great dry lane ball for me is the Blue Hot Flame. It's sort of between a 2 piece and a 3 piece. Most of them are short pins because the weight block resembles a pancake. I put the pin below the ring finger with the CG stacked below. Because the drilling will be mellow, you can shine the cover a lot if necessary and not have to worry about a huge backend snap.

True enough Strider! Some people to prefer short pins. It really all depends on the person, their style and what line / angle they are trying to create. I personally prefer long pins due to my hand release, etc. But that's me!

Thanks to all of you.
I got my Too Hot drilled up last week. The pin is about 1/2", and under the palm. The ball is GREAT on toasty lanes. I had lots of chances to use it this last weekend. EXACTLY what I wanted. Thanks to all of you for the great advice.
