The Storm Phaze III has the attributes of both an innovative core and coverstock technology. The fast-revving shape of the Velocity Core evens out the backend reaction without causing over-reaction. The low RG and high differential coverstock make this benchmark ball a go to for a variety of bowling styles and oil patterns. The R3S Hybrid coverstock does a good job of blending the transitions on the lanes on medium oil conditions.

After 3 years on the market, the Phaze II finally has a shiny compliment ball in the Storm line... and this one was WELL worth the wait. The familiar Velocity core (2.48 RG, 0.051 diff) is pared this time with polished R3S Hybrid, last seen on the Intense Fire in the domestic product line, and this core/cover combination might be one of the best and most balanced that I've ever used. It provides easy length and great punch downlane and excellent pin carry (crucial in higher-scoring environments), but also seems to have a homing beacon between the 8-pin and 9-pin... one of my first competitive outings with this ball was in the last 5 games of a 6-game sweeper, and I missed the pocket twice in those 5 games (both due to operator error). On top of all of these attributes it's just flat-out fun to throw. Mine had almost 50 games on it before release day and I'm already planning on stashing multiples, because I can see myself using this one a TON in the future. If you're not seriously considering this ball... you're losing a step to the competition!

The release date for the Storm Phase III was Dec 13th, 2019 and the buzz is amazing and well justified. Storm has put the shiny R3S Hybird Coverstock on the Velocity core.
WoW This combination gives it great length and more response to friction downlane.
I drilled mine pin down 4 .75 x .4.5 x. 4.5 no hole. On house shots it gives unbelievable amount of miss room and carry. With the Velocity core it still gives you that good midlane read but the R3S cover gets you the nice backend motion bowlers look for in a ball. This is and will be the hottest ball on the market today!

This has quickly become my favorite Storm release of 2019. I simply have not been able to put it down since I put holes in it. I recently rolled my first 300 with this ball and followed it up with a 269. It is filling a huge hole in my bag that I have had for quite some time now. Allowing me to move left without missing the spot and coming up light into the pocket. Once the cover sees friction it reads it and GOES! I have about 30 games on this ball already and can count on one hand how many ten pins I have left. Extremely clean through the front part of the lane and completely stores all of its energy for the back end. Very angular and responsive to friction.

LANE CONDITION
The PHAZE III is going to be that ball that will make you wonder if you should get another!
Patterns used for review are HP modified.
Pattern A: 42Ft, 28.56 Mls, 5:1 ratio
Pattern B: 43Ft, 29.86 Mls, 4:1 ratio

PLAY
The PHAZE III was able to play both patterns from the inside and out with these differences. Pattern A allow for more movement inside and earlier. Pattern B allowed the PHAZE III to move outside.
Initially my thoughts were going to be how the ball played as the pattern migrated and what moves could be made but from the beginning the ball made motion at all points. 4 games were bowled on each pattern and I had 2 other bowlers playing on the lane as to provide faster transitions.
Pattern A:
The PHAZE III was better than I expected from the inside. With the Out of box cover at 1500 polished it had the recovery needed to make the turn. As transition began and I migrated to the left with the motion became a bit steep but still finished strong and easy to control. The move left was better for scoring numbers but the play from the right controlled the early roll of the pattern.
Pattern B:
The PHAZE III on this particular pattern didn't like the inside play as much as the 42ft pattern unless ball speed was under control and I remained aggressive. The beauty of the move right here was the balls ability to face up out of an arcing movement and roll heavy through the back. Scoring was much higher from this area than from the inside.
NOTE A: I introduced the ALL ROAD (Surface Polish) to see where the differences would be in play. The ALL ROAD was earlier and smoother through the turns. This provides a good read as the pattern transitioned. It showed that the two could play well together to combat play as transitions occurs based on player styles and ball selections.
NOTE B: One thing I really liked about the PHAZE III was that it wasn't as long as the IQ Emerald nor did it labor as the pattern play migrated left and inside.
LOW DOWN: Mid lane play to end of pattern play - The PHAZE III wont leave you disappointed. Don't be fooled by the fast revving look when you initially throw it. It will get through the mids and still be able to read mid to back. #StormNation

This one is a must have!!!
Took it from the drilling table to the lanes and was impressed instantly. Ball was stronger than I expected. Flew down the lane with ease, then came back from anywhere I could throw it. Very surprised at where this ball would come back from.
Since I drilled my Phaze III, it has been my first ball out of the bag. It has covered medium to heavy patterns. I have had to move a little left of my normal starting position but this ball is so much fun to throw that I don't mind.
The only issue with this piece for me so far is that as the lanes break down it is a little too strong. After a couple 9 pin leaves I have to give up and ball down.

The Storm Phaze III utilizes the Velocity Core and R3S Hybrid reactive coverstock. This great looking, great smelling, new release is much anticipated. I was at a recent senior tournament and there were so many Phaze III balls on the rack that I lost count. The one thing that stands out for me is it's responsiveness at the hook spot. The PIII is as responsive of a ball that I have thrown. The responsiveness could be curved with a little surface prep. The Phaze III is cleaner up front than it's original counterpart, the Phaze II. The Phaze III will be a nice step down from your No. 1 and No. 2 balls in your bag. The Phaze III could actually serve as your No. 2 ball in most cases. The Phaze III is a good one.

The New Storm Phaze 3 is a really nice addition to the Storm line. I drilled my Phaze 3 (4x4x2) putting the pin above my ring finger. The Phaze 3 is very controllable downlane and I found that it gave me a very Angular motion. This ball is great on fresh as well as burn. As I move my feet inside this ball retains its energy without a problem. I have been selling these extremely fast and I don’t see that changing when you have a ball this good. Everyone do yourself a favor and get one of these in your bag!

First off, the Phaze II is one of my favorite balls I have ever rolled. So, I was hard pressed to think that the Phaze III could compare. Boy, was I wrong.
The Phase III has the same Velocity core as the Phase II has, but the Phase III has the R3S Hybird coverstock on it. Meaning, it will store more energy for the backend than what the Phase II will. I believe this is going to be a deadly combination in leagues, and or tournaments. When the Phase II gets to be too much, or burning up, then thats when the Phase III will come into play. You will be able to move left and throw more left to right while storing engery.
I have the "tester" drilling on mine which is pin above the bridge. This ball hooks quite a bit downlane for me. I think everyone should try this ball, and I fully believe you will enjoy the new Phase III.

My name is Doug Cutler and I am Storm Staffer and this ball review is for the New Storm Phaze 3. I am left handed and my ball speed is around 15-16mph. For my first Phaze 3 I drilled the ball with the pin down and for the surface I hit the ball with a used 3000 pad and used light pressure. All I can say is this ball is strong and good back end, even though the pin is down. I have used this ball the last 4 weeks and also have used this ball with the Phaze 2. These 2 balls work so well together, and have brought these 2 balls and my spare ball the last 2 weeks and I bowl on 3 different house shots. If I start with the Phaze 3 and when the ball starts to go to long then I go to the Phaze 2. When I start with the Phaze 2 and then when the ball starts to read to early and start to leave some 7 pins then I will go to the Phaze 3. I am going to get another Phaze 3 and drill it with the Pin up. I have shot 6 series over 720, and 5 games over 260. The Phaze 3 is such a great bench mark ball along with the Phaze and the ball looks good and also smells good also. This ball has been a hot ball so far and we can't keep them in stock. I would use this ball on THS, and also on Medium patterns and have also tried it on Short patterns. I have used them ball playing way outside and even have used it inside around 20 -10 and still hits hard. If you don't have this ball yet in your bag, I would suggest getting one. If you love the Phaze 2, you are going to love the Phaze 3. The phaze 3 is really versatile and it won't matter how you throw the ball, you will like it. I have used the ball using multiple hand positions and could continue using the ball longer. #stormnation #phaze3

Introducing the Phaze III, the newest release in the Master line. With this release they use the Velocity core and wrapped the R3S Hybrid cover on it. I am a big fan of the R3S Hybrid cover which was on the Intense Fire and its a ball that I'm still currently using to this day. The first time I threw this ball I was absolutely just blown away with what I saw. It just floated through the fronts and just exploded off the back end! Having thrown the Phaze II for years now, the Phaze III is on a completely different spectrum from it. If you love the Phaze II and are looking for a perfect compliment, then look no further then the Phaze III.

I have the Phaze 2 which is mainly a ball I take tournaments so I knew I was gonna purchase the Phaze 3. I absolutely love the reaction I get out of the Phaze 3. The day I got it drilled I used it in league that night and shot 719 for 3 and 997 for 4. The best 4 game set I’ve had so far this season. This ball is long down lane for me and snaps on the back end. It is not jerky at all. I was able to get the ball way right a few times and it came back and carried. I started further right than what I have been. The main ball I’ve been using for league is the Pro-Motion. This ball is about 2-3 boards weaker than that. As the night went on I was able to move my feet left as they transitioned and still carry the 10 pin. I have a hard time with how speed dominant I am and my rev rate on carrying the 10 when moving left that I have to ball up in order to do that. This was not the case with the Phaze 3. I was able to keep moving left and still kick out that 10. I will say I didn’t have to move too many boards to the left with this ball which was nice. I would say this is the type of ball I was looking for in my arsenal that is polished and I do not have much polished equipment in my arsenal.
Overall, this ball is pretty amazing and I am excited to use it more whether that be tournaments, league, or even on sports patterns. I am looking forward to see what I get from it in tournaments since the transition is different and also on sport patterns. My sons league is bowling on the beaten path right now and I might have to try this ball out on that pattern to see what it gives me.

If you’re a tournament bowler or bowl in scratch leagues you’ve probably had or see people throw the popular Storm Phaze 2. Well now Storm has really out did themselves with the Phaze 3, which features the R3S Hybrid cover and the Velocity core. I drilled mine 5 x 5.5 x 2. With all the publicity and the anticipation behind this ball you knew it was going to be an instant hit. Well my time throwing it was on a 41 ft challenge pattern at a tournament and WOW this did not disappoint one bit. It was everything in my Phaze 2 but want stronger on the backend. This will be a versatile ball in anyone’s bag and the perfect ball behind the Phaze 2. EVERYONE will love this ball and should get one !

Let me just start by saying I do not have enough words to describe my love for this ball! The Storm Phaze 3 is hands down one of the best balls I have thrown in a while. In the shop we have sold quite a few and they don’t seem to stick in around for long in the shop. It is a struggle to find something negative to say about this ball from its looks (purple, black, and teal are my favorite colors), the scent (Grapevine), the incredible ball motion, and even price point this ball is a must have for anyone looking for a new benchmark ball or first ball out of their bag. This ball is 100% a staple for me in my bag. I bring it out first every night of league and more often than not I end up being able to stay with it all night moving across the lane. The R3S Hybrid cover stock paired with the Velocity core is the perfect combination of strength and control! The Velocity core is a medium RG and high Differential combo giving us a very manipulatable reaction. The medium RG core allows this gorgeous shiny Hybrid Cover Stock to blend out a wide variety of oil patterns while still having the core strength to strike from anywhere I throw it.

The long awaited Storm Phaze III is now available! The Phaze II has been the most successful ball released since the Hy-Road and there's a reason you keep seeing it pop-up in PBA competition. The Phaze III is the cleaner version of the Phaze II that every has been waiting for. The Phaze II was relatively clean and incredibly continuous for a solid cover ball, but the Phaze III is exactly what so many had hoped for; a ball that gives you the same motion on less oil.
I threw the Phaze III for the first time in a house where the backends tend to be very dry, most cleaner balls require so much angle through the front to create hold that I often have to trick the drilling to smooth them out for this house. The Phaze III was certainly strong enough to use more angle through the front, the difference was that it opened up so much area for me down-lane that I felt like as long as I got it right of the headpin I could throw it almost anywhere and it would still go through the pins. My second outing with it was in a house which has alot of friction in the front of the lane. This house slows down higher performance balls so much that I almost always opt for entry-level equipment to get my ball to retain energy. Because of these differences I've never had one ball that looked good in both houses. The Phaze III defies this difference and again I felt like it opened up an unpresidented amount of area for me down-lane. It's predictable move is usually counter to a ball that will still retain energy when the fronts hook, but this ball isn't like any other I've thrown.
I also had the opportunity to throw the Phaze III in a tournament that used much more volume in the front of the lane. I opted to start with my Phaze II the first few games of the block since there was so much oil in the front. Because of the varying transition that you see when moving lanes during tournaments like this one when the head oil goes its usually a guessing game with what ball is going to shape well enough without over-reading the heads. I was grateful to see that going to the Phaze III let me keep an identical ball motion on this condition to the Phaze II. It was literally the easiest move to combat early friction I've ever made.
The Phaze III is probably the most versatile ball I've ever thrown and everyone I've drilled for a customer has been critiqued the same way, regardless of style. This ball would easily be my choice for the best ball released this year and I only see more and more of them on the lanes since their release.

Alright so without further addu I must bring you my thoughts on the Phaze3!!!! This ball is hands down one of the best all around pieces in along time. In the shops we have sold a ton and always have them flying off the shelfs. From shelf appeal, scent, ball motion, and even price point this ball is a must have for anyone looking for that new Goto Ball or first ball out of there bag. This GEM is 100% a tone setter for me in my bag, I bring it out first every night of league and more often than not I end up being able to stay with it all night moving across the lane. The R3S Hybrid cover stock paired with the Velocity core is the perfect combination of strength and control!!! The Velocity core is a medium RG high Differential combo giving us a very manipulatable reaction. The Medium RG core allows this gorgeous shiny Hybrid Cover Stock to blend out a wide variety of oil patterns while still having the core strength to knock all 10 in the pit from anywhere. Do not sleep on this head turner you sure will not want to miss this Phaze of the industry.

First impression of this ball was "WOW, this thing corners!!"
I was initially going to go with my standard pin up layout, 65*5*45, but last minute decided that with how much I love my MVP being pin down that I would do the samething to the Phaze3. I kept it simple in thinking both are shiny symmetrical hybrids and I figured the Phaze3 would just give me a stronger version of the MVP. I went with a 60*4.5*70 pin down layout. I touched the cover very lightly with 1000 by hand just to break up that initial factory shine. I was not disappointed with it at all. This is going to be one of the best balls to ever come out of Utah, IMO. Very versatile. Takes surface adjustments very well. you can play all parts of the lane and on various different pattern lengths and volumes. I'm a very big fan of this ball. This will for sure be a must have for every bowlers bag.

It’s hard to compare anything to the dependability of the Phaze II, so I’m trying to manage my expectations of the Phaze III. No matter what ball you throw, it’s always best to let the ball and the lane tell you what it can do. So, over the past 2 weeks, I’ve tried hard to let the Phaze III be it’s own ball and not judge it by its older sibling’s successes.
Interesting, what I can compare it to is the Frantic. One of my all-time favorite Storm balls because of its unassuming power. The R3S cover certainly seems to grip the lane a little earlier yet seems to come off the end of the pattern with a favorable amount of side to side movement. Great motion through the pocket.
10+ games in, I’ve found more success when the pattern is fresh. Because the ball seems to find friction and slow down, I don’t see it skidding through the heads as cleanly once there’s been a lot of traffic. Perhaps as the surface levels off in another 20 games it’ll be less sensitive, but for now, it’s definitely more apt to be the first ball out of my bag than it is to be the ball I finish off a night or a squad with.
If you’re on a heavier pattern, you may see this as a great game 2-3+ ball, transitioning from a larger asymmetrical ball. If you’re on a THS with low to medium volume, you may come out of the gate with it and transition to something longer when you lose carry or the pocket.

If you are a tournament bowler or someone paying close attention to the Professional Bowlers Tour then you are fully aware of the Storm Bowling PHAZE II. A benchmark in just about every Storm players arsenal. Now we have the next PHAZE in the line, PHAZE III. The velocity core found in the PHAZE II combined with R3S Hybrid coverstock creates a benchmark shape that has length and continuation through the pins. Bowlers that are looking for angularity and a strong charge towards the pocket… this is your ball. Looking for a bowling ball to destroy the house shot? Pick this one. Need a bowling ball to blend out a tournament condition and battle some of the toughest patterns? Pick this one. PHAZE III in my opinion has to be one of the best bowling balls on the market today. If you need something extremely clean and still want pop in the backend then look no further! This might be the cleanest ball I have ever thrown. When I first threw the Phaze III it went so long I did not think it was even going to respond on the backend but wow it came off the spot with no hesitation. The more I trusted this ball the more I could get left and still get the reaction I was looking for. I compared it to my Phaze II and obviously it’s going to be a lot cleaner. I found because the Phaze II starts sooner it’s about three boards stronger then the phase III. This is a great one two punch for the league bowler that loves to start with the Phaze II. This ball is living up to the hype for sure.

The Phaze III has a light weight velocity core, symmetrical weight block, and is surrounded by an R3S Hybrid Reactive Coverstock. It has a low RG and high differential. The box finish is 1500 grit, polished, but, as always, can be sanded to suit a variety of lane conditions. It is a beautiful Obsidian/Jade/Orchid color, with a nice Grapevine scent.
I have used the Phase III on a 40 ft. house pattern, and a modified house pattern in local tournaments.
I tried the Phaze III, at the 1500 grit, polished box finish, and haven’t done any surface changes. This is a great “go-to†ball when the Phaze II starts to burn up. It evens out the transition with a smooth back end finish. The Phaze III gives me a very clean mid lane reaction. I find it to have a similar motion shape to the IQ Tour, with a stronger finish down lane. Being a lower rev player with ball speed around 14-14.5 mph, I could go right to the Phaze III when i started to see transition, and not have to move in, where I’d normally struggle to get the corners out.
If you’re looking for a great starting ball, or a ball for the transition on heavier oil, this is a great ball to have in your bag. This is a great followup to the Phaze II in the proven Master Line of Storm bowling balls. It’s a real beauty!

Storm Phaze III Ball Review by PJ Haggerty
Shelf appeal, performance, and consistency is what comes to mind with the Phaze III. After a home run in the Phaze II, this one is a perfect compliment and both balls are in my tournament bags at all times. Storm hit another homerun with the Phaze III and it will get lots of attention all over the world.
I’ve drilled two so far and love them. The one I’ve gotten the most use out of is mapped out as 5.5 x 4 and @ 3000. This puts the pin above my middle finger. After my Phaze II, Idol, or Gravity Evolve gets a bit tired, the Phaze III is a perfect step down. With a cleaner cover to create more length and a quicker response time, it’s a natural fit in my bag. I’ve had the most success when the lanes transition and wider angles are required.
It doesn’t matter if you compete in leagues, tournaments, or just practice, the Phaze III is extremely versatile, performs great on all types of patterns, and all styles can benefit from drilling it. In my opinion, it’s my favorite ball in my bag.
If you’re missing something that would compliment a Phaze II, Idol, or Gravity Evolve, the Phaze III is the one you should add!

Review:
The Storm Phase III is a fun ball to roll! This ball gets through the front nicely then makes a hard angular turn when it hits friction. The only other ball I have that is close in angle is my Hyroad X which is not as strong as my Phase III. The total hook of this ball is much more than I and the folks I have drilled them for expected. It is nice to have a polished Symmetric that is so strong and angular. The strength of this ball combined with the entry angle it creates give it excellent hit and carry. I can trust a ball to come back from almost anywhere as long as it sees some friction. We have tested this ball on a variety of conditions and it is very versatile. The only time I had an issue was on an extreme wet-dry where it hooked too much if I was a bit slow with my speed. On that condition a smoother ball would be a better choice. I have one customer who likes to sand everything for hook but on our house shot there has been no need for him to do this with this ball. If you are looking for a strong angular ball the Phase III is a great choice. I am very happy with this ball and demand has been high.

The phase 3 certainly lives up to its hype. Not only does this ball smell and look good, it performs fantastic. The new R3s coverstock is great in oil and absolutely angles hard down lane. When the lanes need angle down lane, this is the first ball that comes out of the bag every time. This ball compliments the phase 2 in so many ways. They are easily one of the best pairs of bowling balls on the market. I have never seen a ball that angles this hard down lane along with being so clean up front. This ball is a must have on many different conditions and lane surfaces.

Phaze III is a ball I’ve been waiting for... for a while now because the Phaze II has been a ball I always have wanted in my bag. Phaze III has the R3S hybrid cover on it which was also on the Intense Fire. Specs on the Phaze III are RG 2.48 Diff. 0.51.This is a perfect step down to the Phaze II. Once the Phaze II starts hitting flat and/or rolling out, Phaze III will give you the motion that you lost with the Phaze II. For me, weaker pin to pap (4 3/4-5 1/4) has a more controllable motion and and stronger pin to pap (4’-4 1/2) has a stronger motion for me. For my game, the 4 1/4 inch pin to pap works better for me. Gives me that stronger motion I look for when the Phaze II dies out. The Phaze III fits between my Phaze II and IQ TOUR Emerald.

Lots of balls look pretty sitting on the shelf, but how about one that not only looks pretty, but then looks flat out awesome on the lanes too? Welcome to the Phaze III
This will be a first ball out of the bag, to gauge the lane conditions type of ball. It probably won’t be something to use on the fresh, unless you are bowling on something medium length or light on volume, but it will definitely be a ball that gets lots of use in the middle of tournament blocks, and will be the perfect ball for typical league play. The hybrid cover smooths out the reaction, so not are sharp as say a Hyroad Pearl but also not as early as a Phaze II. I think this ball actually compliments the new Gravity Evolve well.
What I found was this ball is pretty clean up front, and responsive but not over jumpy to the friction. It also digs in the oil very well, and if you ever run into “wet/dry†or “cliffed†conditions, this ball will help combat those problems on the lane.
A great ball for a variety of conditions, you won’t be disappointed.

We have had a lot of excitement building for this ball to release in our shop. We got the opportunity to throw this ball a couple of weeks ago and immediately it lived up to expectation. This ball is noticeably longer down lane than the phaze II with the same amount of energy into the pocket. For hybrid lovers this ball is excellent to start a set before transitioning to a weaker hybrid ball such as the Hustle. For solid lovers this ball would be an excellent transition ball from an asymmetric deep into a set if you do not want to move very far to the left. Look for this ball to make a lot of TV shows on the circuit (just like the phase II). It is really that good!

PLAY
The PHAZE III was able to play both patterns from the inside and out with these differences. Pattern A allows for more movement inside and earlier. Pattern B allowed the PHAZE III to move outside.
Initially my thoughts on polished equipment is how consistent and predictable the motion down lane will be but from the beginning the ball made motion at all points. 4 games were bowled on each pattern and I had 2 other bowlers playing on the lane as to provide faster transitions.
Pattern A:
With the Phaze III out of box cover at 1500 polished it had the recovery needed to make the turn. As transition began and I migrated to the left the motion continued to be consistent and predictable with a strong finish.
Pattern B:
The PHAZE III on this particular pattern didn't like the inside play as much. The beauty of the move right here was the balls ability to face up out of an arcing movement and roll heavy through the back.
NOTE A: I introduced the ALL ROAD (Surface Polish) to see where the differences would be in play. The ALL ROAD was earlier and smoother through the turns. This provides a good read as the pattern transitioned. It showed that the two could play well together to combat play as transition occurs based on player styles and ball selections.
NOTE B: One thing I really liked about the PHAZE III was that it wasn't as long as the IQ Emerald nor did it labor as the pattern play migrated left and inside.
LOW DOWN: Mid lane play to end of pattern play - The PHAZE III won't leave you disappointed. Don't be fooled by the fast revving look when you initially throw it. It will get through the mids and still be able to read mid to back. #StormNation

The Phaze lll is the newest ball in the master line. The Phaze lll is A stronger ball that out of the box comes with a 1500 grit polished finish. I found that grit to be perfect for the fresh and for any far of the Storm Physix, this ball is a beefed-Up version. Stronger in the mids and back part of the lane. As the carry down becomes apparent you can move left and zones and still keep this ball in play. This was a really fun ball to test and see how far I can get left and bang on it. For the league bowler, this will be a great piece for a league ball and for the tournament player this ball is a must. Looking for a strong ball for the fresh, give the Phaze lll a look.

I drilled my Phaze III 60 x 5 x 45, which is the same layout I have on my Phaze II. Simply put, the Phaze III is the perfect transitional ball from the Phaze II. I like the Phaze II as a benchmark type of ball that provides a great read and strikes a bunch. But, it can start to straighten out a bit at times just like every other ball. That is when it is time to switch gears to the Phaze III. On quite a few occasions already, I have been lined up with the Phaze II and lost carry (too deep, starting up to quick, etc). As expected, the ball change to the Phaze III solved those carry issues and just steam rolled the 8 pin. It glides right through any early hook and pops a bunch at the breakpoint.

The Phaze 3 is a long awaited and highly anticipated release in Storm's Master line. It's a pairing of the clean and ultra responsive R3S hybrid cover from the Intense Fire with the revered Velocity core from the Phaze 2. The Phaze 3 is a traditional Storm reaction, long and boomy, and will fill a void in the current lineup. The combination of the windy, fast revving, and aggressively continuous core and the clean and sharp cover create a ball motion that is relentless. It loves angle, and the motion on the lane is very recognizably Phaze 2-esque, it's a great compliment for when you need to get left and open the lane up. It's now currently the strongest shiny ball we have in the line, narrowly edging out the Astro PhysiX, in addition to being the most angular one.

I have the phaze 3 drilled with my standard symmetrical layout ( 1 inch pin from center and 1.5 cg from center). With the R3S hybrid cover and 1500 polish it allows me to play outside of 10 on a normal house shot, but when the lanes breakdown I can move right and swing it a little. On fresh this ball in very smooth for me, but once the ball sees dry the cover really comes alive. This ball really compliments the phaze 2 if you're looking for the same motion, but just a little later. I would recommend the phaze 3 for benchmark ball or a shorter sport pattern. Get one in your bag.

Likes:I absolutely love this ball! I love the Phase II and the Phase III compliments it perfectly. Easy length on a THS. This ball picks up right where the Phase II starts to quit. To me, both have a smooth reaction off the spot. Neither one is very "jerky" off the break point. When the Phase II starts to labor downlane through the transition or carry down, the Phase III fits perfectly and performs flawlessly! Makes them look silly easy on house and on a tournament pattern makes the middle of block to the end easy to navigate. A must have in the arsenal, regardless of the level of competition your in.
Dislikes:It won't handle a flood of oil very well, but that is not it's design or intent, so not a dislike, but more of a "be aware" statement.

I drilled up 2 PHAZE III'S: First one at 50 x 4 1/2 x 35 and the second one at 65 x 4 1/2 x 20. I put 3000 CTD on the first one and left the second one at box surface which is 1500 Storm factory shine. The idea is to get separation so these compliment each other in my rotation.
PHAZE III #1 was originally thrown at box surface and what a pleasant surprise. Easy length and great movement in the backend of the lanes. There wasn't too many places on the lane this one didn't come back from for me. I hit the surface with 3000 to get the shine off because it's strength turned into a weakness on a flatter lane condition for me. This made it slightly earlier but the good motion on the back was still prevalent. I drilled the 2nd one to give me a longer compliment since I plan to keep surface on the 1st one. #2 gets good length and has a slightly more forward roll towards the end of the pattern. This is good for me as it gives me a chance to trip more 4 pins forward. I plan to keep it close to the box surface.
Drill this one as a great companion to the PHAZE II. The PHAZE III gets more easy length than the II with strong backend and should make these a great 1-2 punch.

WOW WOW WOW .. This call definitely was worth the wait and lived up to the hype. This is a must have if you are a league bowler. The legendary Phaze core with RS3 hybrid cover gets the ball clean through the fronts with a nice backend that gets the ball through the pins with some aggression. This ball has been in my bag since drilling and will continue to be there. No matter what the lane pattern this ball could come in to play somehow. The Storm Phaze 3 was released with lots of expectation! As soon as you open the box, the scent of grapevine greets you along with a ball that has a ton of shelf appeal. After seeing the ball motion videos from Storm HQ, I decided to drill mine fairly weak, like I do with my symmetrical pearls. This is where I messed up. This ball creates plenty of length on its own. The ball's natural length combined with my layout (60x5-1/2x35) generated a shape that I didn't like with the factory polish on it. I Brought the breakpoint back to me a bit by hitting it with a 3000 pad and later a 2000 pad. While I liked the motion, with the surface, It overlapped other balls in my bag.
Being a PSO, I have drilled many of these and with my personal knowledge, I have drilled my customer's P3's with stronger pin placements.
This ball fits so many people, very well!

With the Phaze II being out for more than three years, it was only a matter of time before the next Phaze rolled out, so we thought. Three years after the release of the Phaze II we finally get a Hybrid version state side with the Phaze III. It comes with the same Velocity core with a RG of 2.48 and a Diff of .051. It is wrapped in the R3S Hybrid coverstock and is 1500 polished out of the box. The dual angle layout I chose for this ball is 52x3x20, this is an old favorite layout of mine that I have not used in some time, so I wanted to give it a go with this ball.
I expected a lot from this ball as anyone who has loved the Phaze II should have. The R3S Hybrid cover handles heavier volumes of oil, while still being very clean through the front part of the lane. The smaller rg of the velocity core allows the ball to start slowing down fast for quick change in direction. After taking the shine off of the ball it just came to life for me. It is very forgiving being a hybrid but it also shapes much like a pearl.
For me this ball works well on THS and medium/heavy sport patters. It is very versatile and can be used on lanes with high friction or thin oil or it can handle heavier volumes of oil on more slick lanes. The Phase III packs a punch and has a place in most tournament bags, especially mine. In the pro-shop I work in we have sold a lot of these bowling balls and have had nothing but great reviews on them.

Fast responding and shape looks like a hockey stick to me. The 1500-grit polished surface and having higher ball speed(with low tilt) I am able to play up the boards early and then star migrating left. The R3S cover really helps blend out lane transitioning so I can continue to migrate in and open up my entry angles. The Velocity Core and the low RG with the higher differential really compliments the idea of having this as a bench mark ball. Overall this ball has a really big backend and I like starting up the boards. When I need to move in to open up my angles, I have no doubt, the R3S Hybrid cover and Velocity Core will make it to the pocket and wreak havoc on those pins!!
I highly recommend this ball.

The Phaze III is a unique combination of forward roll in the midlane, with a strong flip in the back part of the lane. I know - those things rarely go together, but it is the only way to describe the strength of this ball. The mid lane roll lets it handle a good amount of oil, but the continuation of the backend also allows it to be used when opening up the lane is needed. The Phaze III is most effective on medium-light to medium-heavy lane conditions.

First impressions: Wow! Does this ball turn the corner! I was surprised at how angular this ball is considering the Phaze II and Phaze III share the same Velocity core. My Phaze II hooks at least 10 feet sooner and way smoother on the backend. But, don't let the R3S coverstock fool you. It is still a fairly aggressive cover. If you have thrown an Intense Fire, you know how aggressive this coverstock can be. i used a pretty standard layout on my Phaze III. A pin up 65 x 4.5 x 35. This is comparable to a 4 x 4 x 2 vector layout. The factory shine makes this ball skid easily through the front 45 feet but then makes a hard turn and a crunch when it hits the pocket. It's not a first game ball for me, but late game 2 or start of the 3rd. I have decent ball speed at 17mph at the cameras and around a 425-450 rev rate. Lower tilt and low axis rotation means i sometimes have a hard time getting the ball through the heads. No problem with this ball unless the heads are fried. I have drilled at least 15 of these for customers so far and everyone has loved it. The slower speed players and seniors really kill it with the Phaze III because it stores so much energy. The firm, up-the-boards guys can play their "A" game and go up the outside and let it rip on the backend. The high rev guys can move in a little and watch the pins fly. It does everything it's supposed to do. Some balls hit the pins with a thud, this ball is a cruncher! #Stormnation

This ball had some big shoes to fill following the Phaze 2! The Phaze 2 is arguably one of the best balls on the market. We have all been waiting for a shiny version to complement P2! This ball is exactly that! Super clean through the front and lots of responsive continuous back-end! This ball is a much more responsive Marvel Pearl! For those of you that liked that one and are looking to replace it, this is a great option! So far I haven’t been able to mess it up for anyone, they roll great pin up, down, strong, weak, or tricked out. If you don’t have one you’re spotting your opponents pins! This is a ball I will use on medium/long quite often and is definitely intended for medium volume patterns. All players should like this one, make sure your pro shop matches up the best layout for you!

On the new house pattern, with not so much blend in the pattern with hardly any 2 to 2's, the ball’s best look was standing 22 and keeping the ball outside of 8 through the front part of the pattern so it would not slow down in the heavier oil. Ball speed was the key I believe by starting the ball a little lower at set up, allow my ball speed to be controlled more to match the reaction better. I kept on striking and striking non-stop. This ball will be great for those that are looking for a step up from the and Hy-Road and IQ Emerald.

The Phaze III is the latest Master Line release from Storm. This version uses the R3S Hybrid cover, which we first saw on the Intense Fire from last year. The Phaze III has great shelf appeal with the combination of Obsidian, Jade, and Orchid. The Phaze III uses the same core as the two previous releases called Velocity. This core has a low Rg of 2.48 and a differential of 0.051 in 15lbs.
I drilled my Phaze III with a 4.5†pin, and a 2.5†pin buffer. The Phaze III with the out of the box finish of 1500 polish, is very clean to the spot, with a strong backend move. Compared to a Phaze II with a 4†pin and 2.5†pin buffer, the III takes much longer to slow down, and is sharper off the spot. I used a grey scotch brite pad to break in the surface and get the III to slow down a little more. Surprisingly, even with more surface, this didn’t really take anything away from the backends, but did make the III much more manageable through the front of the lane. The added surface allowed me to keep the ball on line better, and not over squirt through the front of the lane. The Phaze III will be useful on lane conditions that are a bit more blended left to right, as the strong move at the breakpoint could get unpredictable on very wet dry patterns. This will be a useful ball for players that need to chase a pattern in, but still need a strong core to help the ball spin up quickly.
The Phaze III is different enough from the II to have both balls in a bowlers bag. The two compliment each other very well, with the III being better suited for medium conditions. Thank you for taking the time to read my review of the Phaze III from Storm.

RS3 Hybrid Cover is combined with the Velocity Core (Home Run!) The Phaze III is very forgiving in the mid-lane and doesn’t overreact in the backend of the lane. Besides the awesome color scheme this is one ball that I never take out of the bag. The Phaze II & Phaze III compliment one another perfectly! The Phaze III is a ball that every tournament bowler should have in their arsenal. The Phaze III will be in the Storm lineup for many years to come.

Hello Everyone,today I like to do a ball review on the storm phase 3.I wasn't a really big fan of the first phase that came out,so I was hoping when I heard storm was releasing a new home I was hoping for this one to be way better then the first,as this ball was being released I was hearing a lot about this ball and seemed to be a lot of hype as well even before its release date.When I saw the pics of the new look I was empressed with the colours for sure if the ball is going to be that good it has to look that good as well in my eyes very awesome shelf appeal,grape smell to yummy lol.Its using r3s hybrid cover finished at 1500 polish.When I was throwing this ball I was really like the shape this ball had but for sure something I wouldn't want to use on the fresh,clean sometimes to clean threw the fronts I would go to this ball later in the block for sure,i also hit the shell with light 4000 ab just to brake some polish off to help the ball not over skid the brake point.Really like the motion from this ball lots of backend not to angular but enough to help with recovery down lane for sure.I give this a thumbs up for sure,great ball for a lot of bowlings good job storm.
