Hoping the Hyroad X will be a Hyroad Nano pearl but I'm guessing it will be a hybrid r2s nano cover.

Physix will be the soniq with a r2s hybrid.

I really hope the Hy-Road is r2x hybrid. If it's a Nano Pearl, I'll be interested. If it's R2S Nano Hybrid, I'll have zero interest until proven. Rather have the Hy-Road Nano for the smothest Hy-Road currently produced.

I'm hoping for R2x as well

Polished R2X hyrbid on the hyroad X

Sanded R2X hybrid on the physix.

Would make sense...

Has Storm ever made a 2 piece R2X ball?  Sure do like my Marvel Pearl and Hy-Road and mix them well reminds me of that Al Bundy bit about mixing choco cake and something else.

Maybe they should re-release the Fire Road as the Hyroad X. I want keep score of all the people who said that ball was garbage, change their mind cause the "H-word" is on it now. :D

....just teasing

Not me.  I would probably pick up any R2x ball Storm re-releases.  Fire Road looks cool actually.  Wish I was bowling when it came out.

they should use the g2 core again. i just got a sync and am excited to throw it. i saw on the core/cover chart that it is the strongest core they made. not sure if thats true cause so far my code black flips harder than anything

My sources have told me that the new balls would be a new thunder line ball and a premier line ball, so here we have them.

I’m guessing the HyRoad X will be a 10th anniversary edition one. Probably the same ball with a different color is my guess. But I wouldn’t read into the X as more than the Roman numeral for 10, similar to the iPhone X.

I was told the premier ball (PhysiX) will be along the lines of the Code-X and Sure Lock. My guess is that it will be an ayssemtric pearl with a new or recycled old core. Doubt it will be a Soniq type ball, as I doubt they’d change the name and/or take out the IQ of it.

I would almost guarantee they will use a different cover on the Hyroad X. Not the international market, we aren't quite going for same ball different color thing.

PhysiX will be a Virtual Gravity remake. It was released 10 years ago this November, so again playing on the X as Roman numeral 10.

Fire road had an actual issue with the cover.

I had one. I had literally about a game or two on it. Very urethane like. Which was very unexpected at the time. The cover was so weird it would start out hooking like normal and about 5 shots in it would die out.

Physix is a new asym core with NRG Hybrid and Hyroad X is R2X Solid.

Don't joke about that. I might be opening up my wallet in November if that's true. Storm hasn't really tempted me lately but those do

Wasn’t the original hyroad solid a bust? Is going from r2s to r2x going to be radically different?

Asking for a friend

R2S and R2X are drastically different. Also, they will have differing surfaces as well. I expect the X to be similar to the og, but handle more oil.

Hy-Road X probably going to be a purchase for me. PhysiX makes me think Lock.

I think I'll be right there with you on the HyRoad X. I cant pass that up.

Storm's dopplar test PDF shows the PhysiX being stronger overall in the midlane and backend compared to the Intense Fire. NRG Hybrid vs R3S being the biggest difference of course

I agree. I really miss the Lock too. It was something I could float to my target and consistently have it read the lane the right way. Hy-Road X shoulf be really good for my game as well.

R2X was on Optimus Solid too.
So what finishing process would I need to get my Optimus Solid to have the same surface as the Hyroad X?

Well the RG on the Optimus is lower, so too get the distance down the lane you'll need to take the surface to to a higher grit. At a 2000 grit for storm you're looking at 360 grit and 2000 grit (with a ball spinner),  the hyroad is 1500 grit polish. I would try going from 360 and 2000 grit to 500, 1000,  2000, and finish with 3000 grit. It should get you added length and a sharper backend pretty much about the same reaction you'd get from a 1500 grit storm polish. If you get to much length you can stop at the 2000 and polish 2 sides, it'll take some length off the ball but should give you some good backend.

HyRoad X is the first ball I've ever preordered as a non-PSO. There's going to be a 900 with that ball before the year is up. Mark my words.

While I had (and loved) the T-Road Pearl, I never had a T-Road Solid. HyRoad X is pretty darn close. I wonder what the difference is between R2X (HyRoad) and R2S (T-Road)?

I got to throw both balls at a storm demo this past weekend.

on the house shot we were bowling on, the physiX played pretty much like my lock.  if I could alter the surface to match, I think the overall boards would be within a board.  if you have a lock, probably not different enough to warrant a physiX; but it did roll nice.

the Hyroad X, was smooth.  but for me struggled to turn the corner.  I may get one as I think I can set it up to be a weaker version of my IQ Tour.  but this was a demo ball, not drilled for me, and in OOB surface.  Could be different if it was drilled for me and not a generic drilling.

Probably an arrow and a half on the backend.

I was thinking about this as well except I had a T-Road Solid. Have to say, watching my staffer friend throw his yesterday, it looked like an upgraded T-Road Solid. He left his at box and I had my T-Road Solid shiny for a bit. They had the same traits.

Got to throw both today, and all I can say is wow. The Hy-Road X is a Hy-Road, so of course, it's good, longer than I was expecting with more angle, I'll probably sand mine to 4000, and the PhysiX is very NRG dominant, which I think is good, considering how gimmicky the core looks, it is definitely strong but seems versatile with different hand positions but then again every ball is if you know what you're doing.
