Fired Up question (general ball question also)
« on: February 22, 2007, 10:27:10 AM »
Is anyone else's Fired Up an absolute sponge? No matter how much I throw it, no matter how much oil is on the lane I can never see the flare on the ball. Every other ball I throw leaves an oil track, but nothing with the fired up. I don't even bring out my towel to wipe it off between shots because there is nothing to wipe off.

Should I worry??

Is the ball new?  Seeing as it isn't it your profile, I'm guessing its newer.  It will take a little bit of time for a track to get burned into the ball sometimes.  It's not really a bad thing, as long as the ball still hooks, I don't see why you would have any problem with it.

I have had the ball since a little after Christmas.

The performance of the ball is still as good as it was when I first got it.

I just wanted to make sure nothing bad is going to happen or it was a manufacturing error or something. I don't have the money to replace balls 2 months after I get them. Thanks for the feedback myrrodin.

No problem, you shouldn't have to worry about replacing it anyway, Storm has a warranty on their equipment, so as long as you didn't mistreat it (kept it in a moderate temp, didn't drop it, etc.) they will replace it with another Fired Up (or sometimes another ball) if it doesn't work correctly.  That being said, I don't think you'll have a problem.

I had and have this with my old Trauma. Unless I am very quick to wipe it, there is almost no oil left on the surface - it is really weird. Must be absorbed by the ball, but it did not lose performance yet.
