T-Road Pearl Question

Has anybody thrown or seen a T-Road Pearl at 2000 Abralon + Polish?  If so, which polish did you use?  I've been toying with my Pearl's surface and trying to find the right fit between my Pyro and Neptune, and I'm not sure which polish is "good" for this ball.  Anybody have any suggestions?

Best finish I found for the ball (polished anyways) was to take it down to 1000 grit and to hit it with Storm's "Step Two" finishing compound.

Mine is currently at 2000 with NuFinish Auto Polish on it.  That stuff works good!  I picked it up at Wal-Mart for around $6.

I've got some Storm Step 2, for the next time I change the surface.

What exactly is Storm's "Step Two?"  I don't quite get that whole 320/1500 compound thing.

Step 2 basically will take a 320 grit base to 1500 grit polished.

mine's at 2k+Ebonite Factory Finish polish...

Pretty straight, decent amount of hook on the backend, not a TON of hook, but not straight like a Neptune either, I think that would probably give you a good look between your Pyro and Neptune.

However, in my most humble opinion, the best way to find out what surface works best for you is to experiment.  Just because 2K+polish works for me doesn't necessarily mean it'll work for you.  I know i'm beating a dead horse by saying that, but I really do believe it.

I've been tinkering a ton with my T-Road. I'm having a tough time finding a happy place for it.  Instead of tinkering with teh surface FIRST, I made a grave mistake of adding an x-hole in it first.  So I'm combating a ton of flare now with surface prep.  4000 and 4000 + polish were both a bit too jerky for my tastes.  So the next logical step is 2000, then 2000 + polish.  I like how smooth it is now, it's beautiful.  I think some polish will just give it that length I like.

And if that Step Two takes 320 grit to 1500 polished, what would it do on like, a surface that's 1500 already?

I've tried it OOB and 2000 w/ polish.  At 2000 it gets a little to skid/flippy for my tatses, so I've taken it back to 1000 abralon w/ polish, but haven't thrown it yet.  I'll let you know.

If I were to get my x-hole plugged, would that help the flare calm down?  I know it's not the same density, but is it worth a shot?
