Title: Power Charge Pearl and Curelyon - strong stuff!

Just got mine in a trade from this site!

First of all the ball is pretty.
Beautiful swath of sky blue mixed with a lot of purple/maroon!

This ball reminds me sort of a Brunswick Smash/r but it is a touch cleaner in front and a bigger jump on the back.

This ball even with my drilling.  Stacked pin above ring 1 inch and 1/2and cg up too.  Finger holes drilled deeper by previous owner to legalize!

This ball revs up very hard and early in the heads and midlane even with above drilling.  But this coverstock reactis strongly to dry!  Surprisingly despite early revving this ball gets a full compliment of length.

Whether I leave the original drilling or change now I'm undecided.  Pin and cg way up not that great for a strong side roller!

I guess core mean a lot with that cover.  I have a Blue Hot Flame and it is very mild.  Very clean through the heads and doesn't pay much attention to the midlane either.  Either that or Storm "enhanced" Curelyon like Columbia did with SuperFlex.

The Curelyon coverstock, and some variances of it, have been used on quite a few balls. They would include the Blue Thunder, Lightning Flash and many more, all with different strengths and weaknesses, as to lane conditions, adaptability, etc. The core/weight block does make a difference, as will drilling, and of course each individuals game.

Personally, the Accu-tread and Curelyon coverstocks have been excellent for my game.

Me very sleepy above.

What I meant to say above was that I don't think I'll leave current drilling above, probably nothing that would work with my style.

But regarding the ball, yes clean thru fronts and then a very strong reaction to dry on synthetics.  I had had the curelyon on a blue hot flame and even though the core was very weak when that thing sniffed dry it COULD turn and flip and hit hard, just a lot farther down the lane than this strong cored ball.
This core definitely supplies midlane!

PS my understanding is it close to a remake of the Thunderoad Pearl a noted great ball.
PPS also getting a Hot Rod soon which is another Curelyon ball I've heard a lot of good about!

One thing that seems to be true of the Curelon covers is their durability. With some basic proper maintenance (mild cleaning after each set) they don't seem to lose much in hook or hit! My Blue Thunder, and Lightning Flash, both had a tremendous amount of games on them. Now being used by fellow firefighters, they are still going strong. Matter of fact, the Blue Thunder was used to shoot a 299 just 2 weeks ago.

The only negative I've seen is durability.  Both BHF's I've had (owned a 16# at one time) tracked up pretty quick.

I also find if the core is wide in the middle even if high rg(example sonic x pearl) the ball will supply midlane!

PS my thoughts.  Two with lower rg but similar wider middles in the core are the Columbia Surge and Dynothane Remedy PHD(not that low rg).
