Title: Quick Question about Storm
Post by: Zach M on June 20, 2007, 02:58:04 PM
I have loved the reaction of the Scorchin' Inferno and others in the Inferno line.  I wanted to try Storm.  Do they have a unique ball reaction, or do they have stuff that reacts early like Brunswick and then has an angular backend?  If Storm does make stuff like this, which balls would react like Brunswick stuff?
Thanks for all responces

-Zach

The old stereotype is that Brunswicks roll early and Storms are skid-flip.  Sometimes it's hard to argue against that.  If you want that rolly type of reaction, I hear the original Agent is very smooth.  The Pyro as well.  Take them down from 1500-grit polished to a matte finish and you should have a very controlled reaction.

Ditto on the Special. The Shift is also unique in that Storm put what can be considered a controllable type of cover (particle pearl) around a very strong motor. I have never seen a Brunswick ball with the exception of the Raging Inferno that moved on the back like this one. If you like the Big B and want to work your way towards a Storm arsenal, Go Special, Shift, Agent, T-Road Pearl and Spitfire and you will have 5 very complimentary looks and a great start to a good arsenal.

Yesterday in St.Louis they had a Storm open house. I got to throw the Secret Agent and the T-Road solid both had mild drills on them and both impressed me alot I am a Big B fan but I am going to pick up these balls. The T-Road solid had a nice continuos arc to it. The Secret Agent had a nice arc to it with more backend. Oh by the way Jeff Carter was there also and I got to throw his T-Road pearl thanks Jeff. Storm has some good stuff coming out July 5th. Hope this helps.

Zach, the balls are going to react different and you have to be open to that. The change in your look is something you have to accept regardless of what brand you may try.

Special Agent, don't insult this ball saying it rolls at your toe. Closest in reaction would be like a Double Agent or Passion...both roll real heavy and don't over react at the back. (out of the box surface)

if you like the scorchin inferno i would go with a special agent with a 1000 abralon pad or go with a roto-grip horizon solid......storm / roto-grip same differnce.
