Reviews: MARVEL and VICTORY ROAD
« on: December 30, 2010, 08:34:14 AM »
 Bowlers stats:
Ball speed: medium- high
Rev rate - above average
Pap: 5 1/4 x 1 3/8 up
Right handed

-----storm marvel
Drilling:  4 1/2 x 3 3/8 x 3 (x hole on p2)
The storm marvel is a great addition to the storm line. This ball ball will be excellent on medium-heavy house patterns/ sport shots. The drilling I chose is the same layout I have on my invasion. The invasion is about 3-5 boards stronger throughout the lane. But this ball definitly is a step above the prodigy. From my great experiences with storm this ball rolls very similar to the original dimension. This ball reads the pattern early but very smooth an continuous throughout the lane. I only have a few games on the ball on a fresh house pattern 42 ft. I was able to use this ball for about 2 games until the oil got carried down and the ball started giving me over under. I will add onto this review as I roll the ball on some pba patterns and also different house shots and surface changes. Britton and I will be doing the video review for this ball shortly.

------storm victory road
Drilling: 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 3
The victory road is a ball that will be in every tournament players bag!! If you like the hyroad you MUST buy this piece. I drilled this ball the same as my reign which is one of my all time favorite balls from storm. The victory road rolls slightly earlier then the reign and is smoother and more continuous on the backend where the reign is skid flip. I only drilled this ball up on 12/27 and rolled it last night in our 2nd shift classic doubles league. We bowled against 2 bowlers who rolled original missions with very close to the same revolutions as my self. I ended up playing deeper than both and towards game 3 both bowlers struggled getting the ball to read the lane and the victory road was continuing to split the 8-9 and put 10 back shot after shot. I was very impressed with this ball since the 1st shot I rolled with it. I will also add onto this post as I bowl on different patterns an play with the surface. Also britton and I will be doing the video for this ball the same day as the marvel.

Great job storm!! Once again you guys made 2 excellent pieces

Is the marvel earlier or cleaner than say the invasion and dimension? Also out of the 3 which has more backend?

the marvel is cleaner through the fronts then the invasion. Very similar to the dimension.  As far as backend with 3 solids being compared, my opinion is the invasion has the most backend with all 3 balls drilled similar

so if say 1 has a prodigy

what would be the reason for getting the marvel?simple couple boards more hook?

Its earlier than the prodigy. So yes it will cover more boards. The marvel will handle more oil then the prodigy with it's solid cover. The prodigy is a great compliment to the marvel. When the marvel starts giving you over under on a pattern, the prodigy is the go to ball as it will have more pop in the backend. Hope this helps

How would you compare the Victory Road to the Reign Supreme?
