R3S and R4S
« on: January 31, 2017, 04:07:27 PM »
I wonder why we are not seeing more R3S and R4S coverstock balls. They still are in love with R2S and I can't say I don't blame them. Seems like R3S and R4S just went to the side though.

Fireroad had the R2X and it was a "dud" for most , except on extremely dry lanes.
I'm pretty sure they had a cover issue with the ball. Most people say it rolled like urethane and was allergic to oil. I'm talking about

Marvel and marvel pearl

The ETMs were gems too, prodigy and 2d...Drool.

Virtual gravity, virtual energy

Get outta here bowlaholic.

Them balls all have R2X and sell for $225-$350 a ball right now!

Fire Road just didn't seem like a great combination. Inverted FE3 core liked to flip while R2X is a little more rolly cover

God, what a piece of rubbish. For every IQ Tour, there's a:
Fire Road
Reign
Reign of Power
Reign On
Reign Supreme
Phaze
Sync
Hy-Road Solid

My heavens they've released some shit stains.

I'd put the Fight on the dud list before the Phaze. And the Reign Spreme and Reign were well accepted from what I remember.

By the way, I can't be the only one that likes the tried and true storm with newer stuff added slowly.

I agree about the Reign Supreme.  It got over hyped as the proposed/possible replacement for the Hyroad.  Didn't happen.  Yet, it was a decent ball.  Never owed a Reign so can't comment.

1. If a cover works, why try to fix it? The Big Mac has had secret sauce for decades. You don't see them trying to change anything!

2. If your release schedule is to throw as many balls at the consumer as you can, you're going to come up with some turds. To compare, look at how many "turds" Motiv has released vs Storm. Motiv takes their time and tries to fill spots. Utah is like LOOK AT ALL THESE! THEY ALL WORK AWESOME! OVERLAP OVERLAP OVERLAP! And don't even get me started on EBI... Each company has a heavy oil ball that hooks the most! Mako, Tyrant, Maverick, Gauntlet. Take your pick!

EBI has taken a weird approach. It's like they want every brand to be full line ups, not really encouraging mixing to complete an arsenal.

I think MCD just dropped 3 new Big Macs lol? Same secret sauce though so the point still stands! Lol

McBags. Love it!

Were the Reigns really that bad?  The original seemed pretty popular out here for a while. Still have friends that throw them...

P.S. The Fight sucked. So did the Sync and the Lock.

OMG Give me a Marvel-S with the R2S cover ... a great match in the bag with the Code Black.

Really?  Hmmmm... I had high hopes for the Lock but it didn't seem that special. I had much more success with VGs, Nanos, Marvel-S, Crux, (or even Tropical Heat)... maybe i just had the wrong layout.

The Lock is the closest shape I've seen to the VG since that ball left the market. For me, the Lock is cleaner up front with a smoother shape downlane.
