Shorter pin lengths in relation to cg tend to make ball roll earlier, and eliminate hard skid / flip on the backend. If you want the ball to roll smooth, react smoothly on backend, then this is what to expect. I have a Dark Thunder, 2 inch pin, under bridge with cg in center of palm and ball is smooth all the way down the lane. Polished finish on mine, and I use it when I need to take the over / under out of play.
