Title: React-Gloss finish: Are you changing from the box finish?
Post by: wburr835 on January 12, 2023, 11:41:32 AM
What is the communities reaction to Reacta-Gloss?  So far, opinions seem to vary from getting slimy and sanding it off quickly to loving the easy length.  I've found it to be less desirable than other shining methods.  I'd like to get a collection of opinions.

I drilled a Fate and it was way too skid/snappy for me out of box.  The popular adjustment seems to be to either make it 1500 grit polished (1000, Step 2 or other compound) or leave it at 2000.  I did not do a super long pin to PAP either (4.75 inches).  Even being slightly rev dominate I have a hard time getting it to slow down but it is just not a good matchup on my league condition and I currently have it at 2000.  Sure if I went to a different center I would most likely get a more desired result.

A few guys have hit it by hand with 3000 and it seemed to make it less slimey, and react better.
