Red Hit Sparkle vs. Red Hot Flame
« on: October 20, 2003, 07:04:24 AM »
I just got a Hit Sparkle on eBay for ten bucks NIB. How does it compare to a Red Hot Flame? I had one a few years ago, and it was a monster on dry lanes. For me, it was more ball than I expected. Since it was as strong as my medium reactives, I traded it(stupid). How does the Hit compare? I need something stronger than my old Columbia Red Dot, but less than my Whiplash or Wildcat.

I emailed Storm about this some time back.  This is from memory, so don't quote me.  The cover for the hit series is a very mild resin similar to the Curylon used on the Flames (being newer, I suspect it's a little stronger).  The Hit only has a pancake weightblock instead of the triple puck from the Red Hot/Blue Hot.  I would expect the Hit to hook a bit more and hit a bit less.  I have 2 Blue Hot's and haven't thrown the Hit, so this is only a semi educated guess.  If you want, I can look through my email when I get home and send you a copy.
