Agent strength?
« on: August 13, 2006, 10:39:34 AM »
No it's not a new ball, I'm inquiring on where the Agent fits strength wise with other balls on the market.  My inital reaction is that it should be pretty close to something like a Zone Classic, but I want to hear from you guys first.  Im doing a makeover of my current equipment for the fall and I was looking at throwing an Agent in the bag to be a first ball out of the bag type ball for the easier blended conditions.  I also looked at the Spit Fire and they appear to be pretty close too.  Any input or am I looking at the wrong choice with the Agent?

Agent is strong.  With surface, it will hook in oil.  I would say much stronger than the Zone Classic.

one of my teamates just got one and its an awsome ball in his hands. I am playing straight with an epic battle and he is setting the ball down an 15 out to the gutter and carrying the world. Ball sets up and then just turns straight for the pocket. I am sure it wouldnt work like that if i threw it ,but he sure makes it look awesome. He also has an action and the agent is at least five boards ,if not more, stronger and with more continuation off the break point.

Lol, apparently you've never thrown a Zone Classic . .

Vapor Zone is the best Brunswick ball to compare to an Agent.  Both are early rollers.  I own both and they are darn close.

I think the Agent is longer than the VZ. Of course thrown by the same bowler on the same lane conditions.

I have owned to ZC's, and they have been pure medium oil balls.  From what I have seen from the Agent, is handles medium-heavy with no problem at all, where my ZC would not be enough ball.  I see the Agent to be stronger overall than the Original Inferno, which for me, is stronger than my ZC, so that is where my opinion is coming from.

That's alot Matt, that actually helped alot.  What I am looking for is something in similar strength to the original Inferno without having to shell out a ton of money for a NIB Inferno.  I can get an Agent for about $125 and I have seen some really good stuff out of this ball.  My ZC is for mediums-med/light only with really clean backends so I was looking for a definate step-up without using Activator+.  Storm is making some really good stuff now and I want to dip my fingers in the cookie jar

It all depends on what color pin the Zone classic has.
