Title: Reign
Post by: xxxxxxxxxxxx MR300 on July 31, 2009, 03:14:08 AM
I've found that the Reign is very similar looking and has a very similar core shape as the Fire Storm. Check it out.

The goal of the Reign is to be a new Fired Up is what i was told at the Grand Prix Trade Show yesterday, just updated a bit for slight changes in lanes but the goal was to recapture the Fired Up reaction in a new ball.

Wasn't the Rapid Fire Pearl suppose to be the next Fired Up?

Only difference I can see between the two is the coverstock (although they were both pearls) and the Fired Up was matte while the RFP was polished.

I am really starting to like my new Rapid Fire.  It has a very week drilling (pin above middle finger and cg in line with grip center, plus a shorter span on my ring finger to take out even more hook) and I took the cover to 2000.  This is a great down-and-in ball, good for reverse blocks and over/under conditions, and useable as a spare ball as I can make it go straight when I take my hand out of it.  But the Twin-V core hits hard and the ball makes a very good movement right before the pocket if I need it to.

Fired Up came box polish as well.  The Storm 'classic ball' posting is wrong.  For some reason it now says all older polished balls are Matte - must be a website bug.

i think this ball is going to be a hit.

I really like the fired up. I havent thrown it myself but one of my team mates found one and asked me to resurface it and it has been a very nice piece for when he wants to open up the lane.

The Fire Storm was a high rg, low diff. ball! The Reign has a new weightblock: Cam, which is lower rg and higher diff. http://www.buddiesproshop.com/product/6851/Storm_Reign_Bowling_Ball_-_August_20th.htm The weight block in the Fire Storm is about the same as the Sonic X with the same rg and diff. http://bowlingballreviews.com/ball.asp?ballid=1786

The aim for the REIGN is to make it similar to the original FIRESTORM (the orange one) NOT the FIRED UP.
