Will a Fast and Reign overlap?
« on: October 30, 2009, 05:39:22 AM »
Currently have a Fast drilled 5" from my PAP, pin over fingers. 2000 polished. A friend has a first drill Reign he'd sell for $50. It's drilled 3 1/2" pin to PAP, pin next to ring. Box surface right now, but I'd be able to change it to anything.  My PAP is 4 1/2 over, 3/8 up. I made a rough guess on the pin to PAP on the Reign, but it should be pretty close. Anyways, what do you all think?

Those two will be very different from one another.  With the lay outs alone, the fast will go much farther down the lane before it turns.  In addition to the more aggressive lay out on the reign, it also has a much stronger core than the fast.  Which makes the difference between the two even greater.

The reign will give you a sooner roll, plus a hard arc. Shouldn't be too angular as you would expect from the reign, because of the the label drilling on it.

Yes, they both have the R2S pearl, but the strength of the core is not even close.

Also, I didn't even consider this, but when you say overlap, I guess it depends on your arsenal too.  If you have too much contrast, ie Virtual Gravity, Fast, then plastic, then yea the reaction will be pretty darn close.  But as far as comparing just those two, yes, they'll be different.
