Replacement for Storm Vivid
« on: May 15, 2022, 12:40:38 PM »
Hello!

My husband and I went bowling yesterday for the first time in quite awhile.  Jim has a Storm Vivid and loves it.  Works very well for him...well used to.  Opened the bag, pulled out the ball and it had a big long crack in it.  Bye bye ball.  Check with the pro shop to confirm it was not reparable.

We are now looking for a replacement ball and would like to duplicate the specs (where it's important) since he was so happy with the Vivid.  We bought his back in 2012.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your time in reading and responding!!

In terms of motion, I think the Dark Code would be closest. The cover may be slightly weaker

Proton Physix is also similar but cover is stronger

Personally I think he would really like the Nova.  I know the Vivid was a solid and the Nova is a hybrid.  Out of box cover prep is close as well with the Vivid being 2000 abralon and the Nova at 3000.  The Proton has the strongest cover Storm makes now and think it would be a handful for him if he hasnt bowled in a while.  I believe that the Nova would be more controllable for him while still offering a good amount of performance that would be close to the Vivid.  Or....you can just wait another month as all the companies are going to be releasing all the new summer releases.  But personally I think the Nova would be a good choice if he needs something right now.

Early rolling strong assym is a Roto grip UFO..... Even almost the same colors.

My best second option would be a 900 reality
In the bag [Infinite Physix, Volatility Torque, Night Road, Phaze III, Burner Solid, Hustle AU]
*Now Testing* IQ Ruby, Renevant, another IQ Tour solid
Coming soon...???

I don't recall any of the listed balls glowing under a black light. Just sayin....  ;D
