Title: Retired heavy oil Storm balls
Post by: dougb on January 02, 2009, 01:42:42 AM: I am pretty new to bowling. I have two Storm balls, which are by far my favorite balls in my bag. I rarely see more oil than my Gravity Shift can handle--and I don't think I'm going to be purchasing a Virtual Gravity or a Dimension any time soon--but I was curious out of the older line-up which balls were made for the really heavy oil conditions?

Why would you even care? They would probably be hard to find and not in very good shape if you could. Well a Vertigo without too much mileage might be available.

my other fav heavy oil ball was the Trauma ER, and my Charge scuffed up at 800grit.

Right now I am loving my Virtual Gravity if i can find enough oil for the ball lol.

My Brunswick Wizard is for heavy oil. It has a nice hook, holds the line, but nowhere near the carry as my Storm balls. From what I gather Storm balls can handle a lot of mileage and I thought if I ever come across one in my travels for a low price -- which is not hard as the market for 14 lbers is smaller -- I'd pick it up.

Post by: Mr Straight Ball on January 02, 2009, 11:46:20 AM: Don't cheat yourself going back in the Storm archieves. The new pieces are WAY BETTER on the juice then the past pieces. Save your dollars until you can buy a Dimension or Virtual. There is no rush since your Gravity is getting the job done!
