4 or 5 ball arsenal for Reno
« on: April 11, 2016, 03:23:39 PM »
Leaving soon for Reno. Looking at just taking 4 balls at this time. Definitely taking my IQ Tour and IQ Tour Nano. Both are drilled pin up and currently are OOB surface. I can always change that if need be before we start for score in Reno. Leaning towards taking my Ride and my Lock. Ride is a very reliable spare ball and I have shot a couple 300's with the ball recently on a house shot. Torn between my Lock and my Fight. Lock is 4000 polish and Fight is 3000 polish. Really don't have any confidence with the Fight. Ball just leaves a ton of 10 pins no matter what surface I put on ball. Tends to hook early and almost stop at the pins. Lock hooks a ton for me on a THS. Rarely get to use it,even with polish. I believe in taking balls that take well to surface changes out to Nationals. Looking for anybody that has bowled in Reno already and some suggestions on ball choices I listed above.  Thanks.

I would take the Fight and add some surface.  It won't jump as much on the back end.  The pattern looks like it will really move off the back end, like last year.  If you already have a ball that jumps, the pattern will make it over under the first game or two.

Smoother balls, legion (black one), critical, Iq tour, haywire are all balls I've seen work

If you don't have confidence with the Fight that should almost automatically take it out of your bag for nationals if you can't take everything.

I think having 1 stronger asymmetric ball is good to have just in case it works well for you there

Legion solid
GB2
Tour Sic
Heat
EP hybrid
spare

hearing that 1000 + light polish on some pieces seems to be a good starting point
