Robert Smith
« on: November 28, 2005, 10:24:02 PM »
Robert Smith was in a bowling center where I work in the pro shop yesterday in Bay City Mi He was practicing his trick shooting. He also subbed on the league last night. This young man is all class my son got to talk to him and had Robert sign his bowling bag this man spent time talking to everyone who wanted to ask him a question. Why is it in sports we never or hardly hear about the good thing people do. I want to thank Robert for taking the time to talk to my son and daughter as well as all the other people in the center we need more people like Robert Smith in the bowling world. Good luck this week Robert your friends at Jeffs Pro Shop

It may have something to do with him travelling to Indiana for this weeks tour stop.....just a wild guess.

Sure it is, but Bay City, MI and Hammond Indiana (close to Chicago) aren't necessarily "nearby" .....

does he have family or something in MI ?

Since I work in Hammond, I'll be there on Wednesday to help my friend qualify hopefully, on Thursday and a lil bit on Friday.  I'll miss the finals and trick shooting since I'll be out of town.  It should be interesting this next week.  I bowled on the pattern in Merrillville at Stardust II and it played with an OOB to the right unless you had hand or low speed neither of which I really possess.  It should be interesting.  Have a good one all

When I was in Alabama for the stop there last season he was  very polite to everyone. Another great one was Brad Angelo. I would say there are a lot of the touring players that would take time to talk to people but all we hear about is so and so is such a jerk. I agree that it would be good to hear more of the good things done by those on tour. Good to hear that he took time to talk to your son.

I thought the skills competition was at the conclusion of the tournament.

This year they're taping a few matches at a time, and it's after the telecast.  I think they did that last year as well.
