Neither is Lane#1.

Unless Storm dissolves the "900Global" corporation, I'd suspect they'd have to honor the contracts 900G made with Lane#1, Seismic, Elite to produce their balls.

If Storm has come to some agreement with 900Global, I'm sure one of them will announce something soon.

From what I'm being told is 900G operations will continue as normal. With this buy out Storm no longer has to pay to have balls poured, they get dips on new pours, and make the money from Seismic, Lane, and Blend 10 contracts. So now Storm has another plant and more income from the contacted pours.

But like said I'm sure we will get full details soon enough.

Also I can say with confidence Seismic will not start having scented balls. Pro shops already smell enough like a Bath and Body Works store as it is.

As some of you know, 900 Global has been manufacturing balls for Storm for quite some time, going back several years. They have always had the need for increased capacity and production, and 900 Global has always been able to accommodate this. Storm Bowling Products has decided to invest as a primary stock holder in 900 Global's manufacturing capabilities in order to attain the extra production they need, all while allowing the 900 Global / AMF300 brands to continue to operate as is.

This is merely a manufacturing unity that will allow Storm to increase production to match current demand for their products.

This is good news for both Storm and 900 Global.  Storm gets increased manufacturing capacity while 900 Global/AMF/3G will still be able to remain as competitors and increase their R&D due to the investment.

Now Storm has announced some changes to their leadership.

Primary stockholder means Storm has the right to direct control of the manufacturing operations.  If they need more production capacity for Storm products, they will allocate it for their products.  900 Global/AMF may be operating as-is, but now they are at the mercy of Storm when it comes to manufacturing.

There can only be one primary stockholder, and it sounds like Storm is it for the manufacturing operations. 

Storm is more guilty than other companies when it comes to the "ball of the month" club.  Maybe they should reign in the new releases, and trim down their product line.  Do they really need to be offering 24 different Storm balls and 11 Roto Grip balls?  And that is just for the domestic market.  There are another 22 Storm international balls and 9 Roto Grip international offerings.  That is 66 balls between Storm and Roto Grip...that's just ridiculous.

I find it hard to believe that Storm has constant demand for all 66 models of balls.  The 80/20 rule usually applies...80% of their revenue is coming from 20% of their offerings.

If they have unending demand for every single ball they offer, then they should be the poster child for every other business in the world.

I am sure they could afford to stop production for a few weeks of Mixes and Naturals to meet demand for IQs and Zero Gravitys...then resume production of the urethane stuff when they have satisfied demand for the "hot" products.

Storm / Roto Grip is very smart at what they do. If you check the numbers, Storm only has 24 balls available in the states and Roto Grip has 11. International balls are not available to the states. Storm and Roto Grip release balls at the beginning of the season and very few through out the season. Unlike EBI, between their 4 brands, they are releasing every two weeks. Why? Because they are struggling and trying to find answers. Storm / Roto Grip does not release with every new ball stating "our R&D have developed the strongest cover stock to date" on every release. Maybe that is why all the staffers are getting off that sinking ship and jumping to Storm/RotoGrip, Motiv and DV8. Why flood the market like EBI does when you know you products are good. And yes, Motiv is making great stuff to. Maybe this Storm vying into Global will help them as far as marketing. They have good equipment, just not popular.

Personally (If I've already said it, I'll say it again), I think that this influx of money is going to help the R&D department at 900 Global/AMF to really go above and beyond. Nick makes some awesome rolling pieces, but if the name Mo isn't on it, no one wants to look at a offset core with open eyes. I feel they're on the right track with the CFT core, and will continue to make awesome products.
