I had not purchased a storm ball in several years, since they started adding the fragrances to the balls. I had caught a whiff of a few along the way, and always dismissed it as a gimmick.

HOWEVER - I'm starting to rethink that a little. I know that the power of scent is extremely powerful, and interacts with the brain at a very low level. A few days ago, I picked up my deuce (blueberry scented), and when lining up, I caught a bit of the odor, and kinda settled into the shot I needed to make, without having to think a whole lot. I haven't noticed this phenomenon before with my X Factor (chocolate scented), but I don't use the ball very much either.

What do you all think?

I just think the smells are cool.  Some are a little off, like the X-IT and X-Factor, but the ER, the Blaze, the Deuce and all the other berry or cherry scented ones smell great!  Makes a nice air freshener when you leave them in the car and it gets hot.

I have no doubt that if you have a pre shot routine that the scent of the ball could help you settle into that mental zone just as you describe it Mumzie.

I also liked the fact that my bowling bag didn't smell like an ashtray.

i think they would be better if they had a "feminine" odor to them.. then i'd really be concentrating on hitting the POCKET square.. haha..

For some of the balls, the scent is ok, however the blueberry scent of the Deuce turned me off so much that I didn't buy the ball. From most accounts, this is a great ball and I'm missing out on it but I'll wait for the III - provided it smells good!

In my opinion the Deuce is the best smelling ball ever since the first 2 trauma's.  the Trauma with its Cinamon smell. and the ER with the Black Cherry smell.

It is aroma theropy..LOL I have an old ENG also and it is still very strong. The Boost is a little weaker. My Xfactor just stinks.. What were they thinking?? But when I throw the ENG it does seem to settle me into the shot.
