2d vs Hammer Hot Sauce
« on: February 03, 2009, 02:14:21 AM »
I am going to purchase one of these balls, I am trying to figure out the differences in real world. I know the spec sheets say the Hot
Sauce is longer, and the 2d should handle more oil, but I am looking for some real world comparisons (somebody that has actually seen or thrown both).

What are you looking for out of whatever ball you buy though?

Hammer's claim is that the Hot Sauce is a skid-flip ball for med-heavy. Storm is claiming that the 2D is a med-light condition ball. If you are looking for a skid-flip piece, then I would compare a Hot Sauce and Rapid Fire Pearl.

i am looking for a strong pearl that can be a step down once my heavy oiler is too much. I thought the 2d was supposed to be pretty strong in oil?

The Hot Sauce Pearl is going to be longer and more angular on the back than the second dimension. The Second Dimension is going to give you more control on the back and drive through the deck where I've noticed the HSP gives you a sharper response off friction and more deflection through the pins

Justin highlighted why I said Rapid Fire Pearl was the "like" comparison length and angle.

tizzle, for what you described, I'd do a 2D personally. I like the Hot Sauce and it rolls good. 2D is that ball for once the puddle breaks down a hair for most. A high RPM player will have it on their hand from the word go!
