Second Dimension ?
« on: December 22, 2008, 01:10:02 AM »
Today our pro shop operator got 2 case Dimension, when he check the ball, he find a ball called Second Dimension. The ball was in the original Dimension's box with the Dimension drill sheet. The color is red/green pearl. Not sure it is
Pearl reactive, Pearl Particle or a Hybird. The ball look Finish by 1500-grit Polish. Serial No.: 08TDDL096023.
Is these is the new release or a Blem?

Well since it seems the cat is out of the bag on this one, ill share my experiences with the second dimension

First off, this ball smells GREAT...baked apple pie

Second off, this ball ROLLS GREAT...i know about as much about it as you guys do...i drilled it up like my favorite dimension and went to league...

shot 297-759 straight out of the box with it...got slow on the last ball and went through the face...ball clears the heads very well but still provides that heavy dimension roll in the midlane and back, with a little more pop at the breakpoint than the original...this ball rolls so pure, no squirt, no wiggle.  The best part i have noticed so far is the ability to get in and circle the lane without the ball losing energy once the lanes go through a transition...the pearl pushes the ball through the heads without a problem while the mica additive seems to help the ball traction in the midlane and the backend better than a pure pearl like a gravity shift...

this ball will be an awesome follow up to the dimension

Where'd you get this from? Maybe we clicked the wrong link.  I was on PBA.com also, LOL, didn't see it there either.  The PDF file looks different than the one I was looking at too, though.

Baked apple pie, eh??  Mmmmm. I can taste, er smell it already, LOL.

This is interesting, i've been telling my buddies for a long time i'm going to get the Pearl Dimension if it ever comes out, I love my regular dimension and how it rolls but I just wish I had a little more length on most shots, my Hy-Road works alright but I figure the Second Dimension will fit the gap to a T.

Good find, thanks.

It says on the flyer that the coverstock is “R2X Pearl with E.T.M. (Enhanced Traction Mica)".  What in the world is "enhanced traction mica"?  A fancy way of saying it's a particle pearl maybe?

Either way, I'm very, very interested in this ball.  I love my Dimension, but I'd like to be able to shell down when the heads start to go a little.

with ETM sounds like pearl particle to me.  Isn't mica the primary particle used these days?

Mica is used to make pearlizer. These are larger flecks.

IMHO it is just marketing blah. Some time ago, Storm also advertised its products having extra large PET flakes (glitter additives) that were supposed to enhance traction... Anyway, nice ball, and overdue. If someone can , please take a real pic - the Japanese poster looks pretty bluish, much like a Cell Pearl?
