Ball suggestions!
« on: October 03, 2005, 11:54:54 PM »
I´m thinking of getting either an ACE and a HYBRID or a DIABLO and a FIRED UP.
Those 2 balls are supposed to be in the middle of 4 balls and cover from med-heavy to med-light.
What do you guys think i should do?
Or have you got any other suggestions?
The ACE is a little used so its not so expensive.
Look at my profile for stats.

I have had a Hybrid and loved that ball ! I gained 10 pins a game using it. I have also had an Atomic Charge and thought this ball was a very under rated ball, great in med/heavy area.

Haven't thrown the Ace or Diablo, but if I were to change back to Storm, I'd go Atomic Charge and Hybrid.

I have a 3 balls arsenal-ACE, Hybrid, Pin-Pals Spare Ball. Wouldnt change it for anything. But, I'm a one-house bowler and have never gone to tourny's.

Personally I would drill a Paradigm rather than the ace. I just get a better read with it than the pearl particle on the ACE.

FIRED UP!!!! I prefer a shiny ball, though. But from what I've read and seen, I like the Fired Up. Diablo is also very nice, if you like the reaction of a dull surface. I hear GREAT things about the Hybrid, but it's more like my Screamin' Banshee (meant for med to med-light oil... not so great on heavy). Apparently the Ace is not that great... I wasn't impressed when I saw it roll and neither were most of the people I've talked to about it.

So, for the spot you're looking to cover, I'd look at either the Diablo or the Fired Up. Good luck!

Some people say that Bowling is a lot like Golf.
It's fickle and precise, not to mention that the equipment is especially important.
I've been known to break golf clubs and throw them in lakes to take out my frustration...
Do you think I'd get in trouble if I chucked my X-Factor through the pro shop window?

I have the Ace, the Diablo, Lane #1's H20 and The Tsunami on the way!!  With my spare ball, my 5-ball Arsenal that I do go to lots of tournaments with.  The Diablo is my ball of choice for my THS Friday Night League..  The H20 is when I find a drier lane condition in tournament action, and the Ace I can throw on anything but the driest of conditions.. Have no idea where the Tsunami is going to fit into this Arsenal, but the ball looks cool, so had to get one to compliment the H20..  I would get the Fired-up and the Diablo!!

I own an Ace and would recommend against it unless you regularly bowl on longer oil patterns (40+ ft).  It really excels on longer patterns but for me it rolls to inconsistently on shorter oil.  For medium-heavy on normal house patterns (35-38 ft x-mas tree pattern) I would get a Vertigo or Triple X Factor.  I haven't seen the Paradigm yet but that may be a good choice there as well.

For medium-light you can't go wrong with a Hot Rod Pro Stock Pearl or the Hybrid.

Good Luck
