I believe it is being shown off at the High Roller next week. Should be out the week after that I would assume. Don't quote me on that one

That says unveiling at the high roller this weekend... Feb 3rd.  So will they available to the public after this weekend?  What are the chances I can have one by Feb 16th?

With me I prefer Storm's hook scale over numbers.  I would rather compare the reaction shapes from ball to ball.

Maybe both a shape and a number would be nice, but don't lose the shapes!

According to the Schlem report on the website, the Shift hooks more than a Special Agent.....

Just because someone once called him a cranker, hey may assume that Storm's cranker rating applies to him, and he thinks he can get length out of a Passion.

This is so true.  I am more or less a true stroker.  When I asked about putting out a shot with more oil, the owner of the house I used to bowl at in IL accused me of being a cranker because he kept his lanes so dry that I had to play across the alley with my 250 or so revs and my 17-18 MPH ball speed.  I'm not an expert by any menas, but I do know that I don't qualify as a cranker in any way.

I think with these lines they show on their site, you more have to compare the shapes to each other.  Like this one is way more angular than this one.

I don't see why Storms or any other companies personal rating systems should matter.  It should be more important to look at the individual stats of the ball (RG, Differential, cover, finish, and weight block) and determine how the ball would work from there.  I understand not everyone can do that, but if you educate yourself on how these things work, you will be less dependant on relying on what the company tells you.  If you still want to go by a general scale, go to bowlingball.com, they developed their own scale to judge equipment by.  Also, for those of you who actually look at the US bowler magazine, there is a 2007 ball guide in there.

I just wish the video on the storm site caters for stroker, tweener and cranker style of release for any of Storm's new balls. Those hook scale arent good enough for me.

That scale is kind of nutty though.  If you look close enough and compare enough balls you can definitely prove it wrong.

Also, again since it is just a number I don't know what a 200 is going to do over a 170.  I like the shapes telling me that this ball is going to roll earlier and smoother than this other ball.

Yeah they should do that for each ball, just show a few shots with each style maybe.

Fluff E Bunnie:  I wholeheartedly agree that they're just numbers and don't mean that much.  I think it is much better to analyze the individual stats.  That's what I do, and then I talk about it with my coach before we decide on purchasing new equipment.  I think more people should do it this way, but a lot prefer to just look at numbers and go by them.

Video looks good, but the Shift sure does "look" like the reaction "I" have with the Double Agent.

May have to look a little harder at the Total NV, or even the Pheonix.

Marcia Kloempken (Team USA 2007 and wife of Steve K., the Storm Technical genius) subs in my Scratch league occasionally and she was throwing a Shift all 4 games... It is strong as hell! She isn't a power player but she looked like one last Monday night. It really revs easy and digs in with a very pronounced movement off the spot. She was moving all night long to keep it skidding. Very good looking ball too.
