Shift = Paradigm on steroids
« on: February 07, 2007, 03:25:58 PM »
I used this ball game 3 tonight and the explosive midlane and backend of this is simply amazing to put it simple. Drilled pin under ring 4 1/4 pin to pap and mb 4 inches to pap, no weight and pin,cg,mb all nice inline.

If you think your Paradigm hooked well this new cover and core combo will make you change your mind about the Paradigm and Domination balls. The backend flip is one of the fastest change of directions will ever see from a ball. It let me toss right and watch it roar back on a shot where the Big Shot was not able to recover from tonight.

I am not the biggest Storm ball fan but this ball will a ball i might actually keep around awhile, which for me is big deal. Get ready to move inside and toss it out there because if it does it for me, i would hate to see what anyone with revs and tilt will do with this ball.

I can say Mrbowlingnut knows what he is talking about when he posts what a ball does and what it doesn't do. So now as a 220 average bowler, I will say that everything he has said is correct about this ball.. I drilled mine earlier in the week for the Megabuck tournaments and I could barely use it due to how much this thing hooks!

At the boot hill there were some pretty heavy oil patterns. I mostly used a Special Agent but this ball was about 2 feet longer and about 4-5 boards more overall hook. Completely insane if you ask me! I have a pretty high rev rate and this ball let me open the lane up more than I figured I could. I also as well compared this to a big shot. The big shot is much smoother off the breakpoint, but doesn't make nearly the move the Shift does.

My opinion another great ball by Storm Bowling Products!!!

Sorry for responding so late to this but,

My 249 average bowler on my team shot under 500 last night does that make him bad????
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You damn right his bad. There is no way that a bowler that average 250, will make 500 in 3 games, there's just no way.
My guess is that your normal lane condition is really easy. A good bowler knows that bowling is not just strikes. A very good bowler (250 in average) will now how to make spares, and in a bad night will make 600 maybe 570. 500 NO WAY!

I never said it was a tough shot did I???  Every center in Vegas is cake whether you a righty of lefty, he happens to be a lefty that throws the ball pretty good. He is from Taylor, Michigan new to town and a pretty solid bowler and very nice guy. He only has 9 games in so that does not count for book average yet anyway, the sub 500 week took him to about 226 now.

So lets conclude this for all guys on this board on a pba shot or sport condition i am probably 165-170 area, i have not bowled a tough shot league in 2 years now. That was my average then so lets say it is the same still, so yes i am that bad would you like to know anything else??? Also my 249 average bowler is more like a solid 220 ish bowler but unlike most lefties i watch he is a solid bowler. He is not just a dump it up 5 guy like most of the lefties are in vegas, the guy can actually hook a ball decently.

So yes i suck any more questions please hahaha

Thanks mrbowlingnut for your comparison.  Based on your comparison, I would assume that the Power Machine works a little better with heavier oil and/or with some carrydown?  I have a house I bowl at on Monday's where my Lane#1 Crystal Diamond Buzzsaw has been seeing the most action due to the fact that my other balls just hook too much.  I throw this ball Straight and fast up 5 and it still comes in high if I am inconsistant with my speed.  Only way for me to hit the pocket with any of my other balls is to either lay my hand flat or throw it faster (3+mph faster by my guess).  The Shift sounds like it might fit the bill, or is this house just flat out too dry?

There is no way throwing a crystal diamond up the 5 that comes in high would i even attempt to throw the shift on that shot. The Shift with cleaner backend is way too much ball for this, i would recommend urethane like a visionary slate blue or something like that for you. The Power Machine is stronger in more oil than the shift with me throwing them at least, I thought the Shift would be more like an X-Factor which i can use on almost any lane condition but it went very straight on friday night.

Urethane or something like barb wire or razor wire would be more in line with what you are looking for. If you stay with Track the desert heat would not be bad choice either, probably still all to much ball.
