SHIFT tape Randy Peterson
« on: March 07, 2007, 01:04:26 PM »
Has anyone seen the tape with randy peterson throwing the shift comparing it to the angular one what a joke. Randy throws the shift a few frames then grabs an angular and and acts like he is trying to do the same thing he was doing with the shift and you can obviously can tell he not putting near the same amount of revs on it as the shift and then you can see the smerk on his face when he says the angular just isn't finishing like the shift. I am not saying the shift is a bad ball but the angular one is definently not near as bad as there trying to make it look. I have one and it definently finishs hard for me pins are all over the deck.

ALL THE BALL COMPANIES NEED TO STOP TRYING TO MAKE EACH OTHERS EQUIPMENT LOOK LIKE ITS CRAP. IN MY MIND ALL THE COMPANIES MAKE GOOD EQUIPMENT BESIDES ARN'T WE THE BUYERS SUPPOSED TO DESIDE IF THE BALL GOOD OR BAD.

Ya i saw that tape and the whole shop was yelling and upset that he was making the angular one look bad. I honestly thought he had a little more class then making another brands high end ball look like a joke. Love randy the announcer but the bowler is another story . . .

I laughed. I don't see this any different than when Ebonite was putting their balls against everyone elses. At least Storms is uncut. On ebonites, it's a cut version and doesn't look like the same roll/person throwing the ball. On the Peterson video, I don't see where he was doing anything different. We played ours over and over in slow motion/fast motion/backwards.... Didn't see it.

All I know is last night during my Sport League, I was tossing a Pyro and a guy on the other team was tossing the Total NV and the Angular One.  He and I are about the same average/skill level.  Pyro was money...Ebo balls were not...beat him by over 60 pins for three games.  The Ebo balls were all over the place...sometimes flush in the pocket, next time crossing over, then not making it back to the pocket on the next shot...Pyro, smooth as butter, never over re-acted, never under-reacted, around the pocket all night.

If one of Storm's "third-tier" balls can make Ebo's "top of the line" stuff look bad, I can only imagine what the Shift would make them look like...

I drilled my shift yesterday and this ball is very strong in the midlane and very continuous on the back. So far, I am very impressed.

There is no such thing as a bad ball...

Remember -
"There are no bad bowling balls, only bad bowling ball reactions"

"You cannot out execute bad ball reaction"

And

"There is no replacement for the well-executed bowling shot"

I would agree with that...HOWEVER...

quote:

And he was getting plenty of bad reactions with his Ebo arsenal...

True...he throws it pretty well but you couldn't tell it last night

Yeh, I must admit I was throwing it good last night...

I can understand why they would use another company's ball...

...but that video would've been a WHOLE lot more usefull if they compared the Shift to some of their own equipment (Special Agent / Thunder Road)!!!

I love Randy, hes the man. They did do a good job of making the Angular One look like crap though, they should have compared it to the TNV but they probably did that one first and it looked just as good, making them try a different ball.

Randy can make any ball look bad. Put them in Duke's hand and then make a judgment.
